The Greek aficionado VieL has firmly established himself amongst the finest of melodic movers. After gracing us with an incredible collaborative project alongside Madraas, the Vires EP, and later a solo piece in the form of It’s You on our Tales of Romance series, we’re thrilled to have him back on TOR during the peak of summer.

Cognitive Empathy opens with a fruity house groove and playful basslines. The glossy vocal eases in, providing the framework for delicate melodies to float over the punchy arrangements. The track lightens as we approach the pinnacle, letting the groove carry elevating emotions.

Premiere: D&G - Frequency - Dance Artifakts

Dawn till Dusk welcome the deep and organic house from Belgium's Greg Nairo, and on his debut outing for the label, he doesn't disappoint. Here he presents three exquisite tracks that are warm, effective and highly unforgettable.

On 'After the Rain', delicate melodic synths and sweeping sheens of strings float atop a beautifully hypnotic rhythm. It builds towards a desolate sounding violin and breakdown that is a stunning exercise in bittersweet melodies. Deep dance music doesn't come more high level than this.

'Alone' is wrapped in a meticulous deep house rhythm that sucks you in like a black hole. A sturdy bass, melancholic vocal sample and reverb washed synths all add to the mystery. Rest assured: this is contemplative dance music that moves your mind as much as it does your feet.

With its running bass line, the synergy is more uplifting on 'Purple Winter'. Keys shimmer in the background like wind chimes, whilst a wistful vocal accentuates the strings. There is groove aplenty here and just enough emotion to please everyone.

'Solid State' is the first EP on Univack by the argentine artist Nobilis @nicolas-vicente-1 (Balance / Dopamine). This release contains 4 original tracks with the mastery that Nobilis prints in his productions, achieving a variety of landscapes with nice progressive and organic harmonies.

The EP is completed with a remix by the well-known russian artist Ewan Rill @ewan-rill , who has made a pure progressive house version of Solid State, characterized by it strong groove and its long and epic breakdown.

Jessica Saves makes a scintillating SOL debut this January with an intricate 3 track release titled ’Weekend On Alpha Centauri’. The title cut sets the scene immediately, coating lush, wavering synth-work and distant vocal samples in a dense, cosmic atmosphere that is truly palpable.  

‘Final Approach’ paints a picture of its own through the use of hypnotic pads and delicate melodic touches. The combination presents a flowing evolution that consumes the listeners and transports the mind far from home.  

Closing out the release is ‘The Forests Of Arion’, which presents a third chapter in the story. Similarly tense and beautifully textured, it offers up an inimitable experience of its own, contrasting a threatening low-end with entrancing melodies. It renders a dark yet hopeful conclusion.

Germany’s Koelle made his XYZ debut last year in alluring fashion. The classically trained musician out of Ingolstadt collected a stellar team on the Fall In Time EP, with vocalist Margret and producer Into The Ether each deeply involved throughout the release. After a raucous applause for the original material, we are thrilled to revisit the project with a riveting roster of remixers. As we dive into the new year. we happily present Fall In Time (The Remixes).

Montreal is the lifeblood of When We Dip, and we are ecstatic to welcome one of the city’s most promising rising talents into the XYZ fold for her debut. Sinca quickly caught the ear with her first ever release coming on the behemoth Anjunadeep. She turns the dial on her first remix, welcoming an understated grit through a throbbing bassline and delightfully searing synthetics floating over bouncy percussion. Margret’s chopped vocals ask the question at the center of it all - Is it Love? Indeed it is.

Erdi Irmak is simply one of the most eclectic producers in the modern deep & melodic scene. The Turk has carved his own path, releasing sensational cross-cultural sounds on the likes of Tale & Tone, Amulanga, and Hoomidas. The XYZ faithful will have grown fond of Erdi’s work on the imprint thus far, appearing on each of our Oppo projects and presenting a delightful remix of a label classic - Same Light. The Istanbul-bred producer now arrives in full, crafting his first full-fledged EP on XYZ in the form of Driftwood.

In many ways, Amega is the voice of XYZ. She collaborates with Erdi on the project’s A-side, offering her instantly recognizable vocals on I Can Find. A rich percussive groove sets the vibe, as Amega’s performance summons hopeful prose lush with light; a valiant tone to start the year. Melodic mastery by both artists, who come together for the first time in pristine fashion. 

Driftwood lifts the pace, shifting into dancefloor mode with a warm bassline and synthetic cuts entering the fore. Energy ebbs & flows on this heady hitter from Erdi, showcasing his immense range as a producer. Eastern instrumentals maintain an organic opulence, while the house kicks pause only momentarily to create a powerful rise. An essential tool for the selectors.

Closing out the project is Rainflow, a boastfully balanced groover for both mind & body. The underbelly is built upon an ominous low-end, maintaining a driven arrangement for the dancers. Immaculate instrumentalism rises to a higher plane, and a soft vocal cut exalts exhalation. A special cut from one of the best.
