Germany’s Koelle steps up to make his XYZ debut in alluring fashion. The classically trained musician out of Ingolstadt has made waves in recent years, with thoroughbred projects on the likes of Anjunadeep, Lane 8’s This Never Happened, and Needwant. The constant collaborator is joined by a stellar team on the Fall in Time EP, with vocalist Margret and producer Into The Ether each deeply involved throughout the release.

Koelle turns the dial as he takes the reins on a solo production. A boisterous synth steals the show, as its choppy nature and understated grit leave a searing impression. Margret returns to ask the question at the center of it all - Is it Love? Indeed it is.

For the next installment in our Watergate Mix series, we turn to two close friends of the club who also happen to be some of the most sought after selectors today, the dynamic Polish duo Catz ’N Dogz. The story of the fabled friendship goes back over 10 years when they first played the club inciting the first anecdote in a series of countless returns to both the main and water floors as well as our open air summer events and club showcases throughout Europe. 

Within the mix, the pair perfectly encapsulate the vibe of each respective Watergate events’ environment proving they are masters of their craft. Over the span of 27 tracks in just over an hours time, Catz ’N Dogz showcase their affinity, prowess, and knowledge of all things House. From beginning to end, the mix dives into every corner the genre has to offer, merging classic sounds with future concepts where the sounds of legends like DJ Garth, Joakim, K'Alexi, Jackmate, and Mr. G blend effortlessly with today’s brightest talents like Moomin, Willy Burns and 79. The mix also features seven stunning exclusives. One by way of heavyweight Eats Everything & Lord Leopard while the other six come from Catz 'N Dogz themselves demonstrating their penchant for collaborations on tracks with Reno Wurzbacher, Shaun J. Wright and Yotami Avni as well as their love of edits heard on their revisions of Da Posse’s ‘In The Heat Of The Night’ and Todd Terry’s ’Tee’s Groove’ before finally ending the mix with their absolutely timeless original; ‘Fire Burning When We Are.’ The final result is an expertly crafted and finely tuned journey through the macrocosm of House music from two artists at the the very top of their game. 3 QUESTIONS to MARCO RESMANN:

Q: Tell us about your mix. How did these tracks have an impact on your later doings?

A: The tracks in the mix played an important role in my career as a DJ and producer. Apart from the Kraftwerk tune, all of them are from the period between 1990 - 1997, the time when I got infected with the Techno & House virus and started to buy records and became step by step a DJ. I still love them all, they are timeless and still playable, which is amazing.

Q: Your tour schedule looks huge. Where do you find your rest?

A: Somewhere in between touring, studio work and family life. Honestly more while touring than at home with 2 little kids.

Q: Which Resmann and Upon.You projects are upcoming?

A: End of September I will release my third EP on Poker Flat Recordings. I’ve contributed a track for the 15 Years Watergate compilation, which will be out in November. I also have my third EP on Watergate Records in the pipeline, which I produced together with some great talents from South Africa at the Red Bull Studio in Cape Town. Oliver Huntemann delivered a badass Techno Remix. Release date will be probably November or December. With Upon You we're celebrating our 10 years anniversary and are planning a jubilee compilation as well. More info soon.
