Johnny Da Cruz was born in São Paulo and during his first 10 years as a dj collected residences in most of the best clubs of the city like D-Edge and Vegas, besides managing his party-label Voyage, one of the first parties focused only in Downtempo and Deep House in the biggest city of South America. Starting his career as a producer in 2017, Johnny recently moved to Berlin where he started his new label EKORD and is also part of the URSL crew which released his first EP ‘Cut Me’. His second EP ‘Suspicious’ reached Beatport Top 14 on the Melodic Techno chart in 2019. In the last 3 years he's been playing frequently in clubs and festivals like Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Wilden Renate, Garbicz Festival, Flex Club (Viena), Elefant (Oslo), Südpol (Hamburg), Waagenbau (Hamburg), Climax (Stuttgart), Palais (Munique), Plano B (Porto), Boa (Geneve), Cafe del Mar (Tarifa) and many more.

Curating sounds from artists around the world who've influenced his journey thus far, as well as a pristine production of his own, Emotional Tourist presents a project that fully represents his tastes as an artist.

XYZ faithful are well aware of Mitch Oliver’s knack for ominous and punchy productions by now. The Montrealer has thoroughly impressed over the last year, which began with his Alleghanys took the world by storm. He’s back in the depths of winter to provide further sound solace. Azure keeps minds moving with meandering synths and an ever present kick, igniting any dance floor in need of a spark.

Erdi Irmak - Hikikomori [Snippet]

We welcomed our first edition of this year with great excitement.
We are very well acquainted with the Russian music scene and as far as this genre is concerned - organic house, the Russians are at the forefront of the electronic dance music scene.
One of those who joins the flock and debuts on our label is Jenya Miller! However, this is not his first signed release, as his music can be heard on Suprematic and La Mishka, but it is first on The Purr!
The release of "Flowers" consists of two beautiful songs that are largely focused on exactly what we expect and love to hear, the sound we nurture on the label, deep melodic notes and quality groove.

Jessica Saves makes a scintillating SOL debut this January with an intricate 3 track release titled ’Weekend On Alpha Centauri’. The title cut sets the scene immediately, coating lush, wavering synth-work and distant vocal samples in a dense, cosmic atmosphere that is truly palpable.  

‘Final Approach’ paints a picture of its own through the use of hypnotic pads and delicate melodic touches. The combination presents a flowing evolution that consumes the listeners and transports the mind far from home.  

Closing out the release is ‘The Forests Of Arion’, which presents a third chapter in the story. Similarly tense and beautifully textured, it offers up an inimitable experience of its own, contrasting a threatening low-end with entrancing melodies. It renders a dark yet hopeful conclusion.

Madraas kick-off 2022 with a sublime new single on Kindisch that comes with remixes from RIGOONI and David Orin. 

Riccardo and Marco are Madraas, a pair of house craftsmen at home on connoisseur labels like All Day I Dream and The Soundgarden. They have a melodic, enchanting sound that gets your head amongst the clouds and your feet tapping. Here they offer the seductive 'Where The Shadow Ends,' which has a slinky house rhythm that is invitingly loose. The weighty kick drums are peppered with toms and dreamy synths bring a luxurious and spaced-out feel. It makes for a classy deep house roller. 

RIGOONI hails from Brazil and brings with him a rich array of influences. He has released on the iconic Balance Music and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, and now comes through with a richly organic remix. It is more driving than the original, with slick tech drums powering it along under balmy, far-sighted chords that get you in a reverie. 

New Yorker David Orin is a foundational figure in his native scene who blends rhythmic percussion and intricate melody. He is part of the All Day I Dream roster and serves up a hypnotic remix here. It is perfectly airy and zoned out, with smooth grooves and sustained chords bringing plenty of warmth and soul. 

‘Where The Shadow Ends’ is another perfectly absorbing and musical package of deep house from Kindisch.

Erdi Irmak is simply one of the most eclectic producers in the modern deep & melodic scene. The Turk has carved his own path, releasing sensational cross-cultural sounds on the likes of Tale & Tone, Amulanga, and Hoomidas. The XYZ faithful will have grown fond of Erdi’s work on the imprint thus far, appearing on each of our Oppo projects and presenting a delightful remix of a label classic - Same Light. The Istanbul-bred producer now arrives in full, crafting his first full-fledged EP on XYZ in the form of Driftwood.

In many ways, Amega is the voice of XYZ. She collaborates with Erdi on the project’s A-side, offering her instantly recognizable vocals on I Can Find. A rich percussive groove sets the vibe, as Amega’s performance summons hopeful prose lush with light; a valiant tone to start the year. Melodic mastery by both artists, who come together for the first time in pristine fashion. 

Driftwood lifts the pace, shifting into dancefloor mode with a warm bassline and synthetic cuts entering the fore. Energy ebbs & flows on this heady hitter from Erdi, showcasing his immense range as a producer. Eastern instrumentals maintain an organic opulence, while the house kicks pause only momentarily to create a powerful rise. An essential tool for the selectors.

Closing out the project is Rainflow, a boastfully balanced groover for both mind & body. The underbelly is built upon an ominous low-end, maintaining a driven arrangement for the dancers. Immaculate instrumentalism rises to a higher plane, and a soft vocal cut exalts exhalation. A special cut from one of the best.
