A supremely talented DJ/Producer, Tara is renowned for blending hints of darkness and light, and Wake Me does just that, twisting a myriad of intertwined emotions and magical melodies over an enticing groove, with enough energy and soul to be played early or late, slower or faster a haunting musical creation par excellence.

This EP marks the closing out an era of sounds for Tara Brooks, while slowly introducing a new chapter. The latest release from German wunderkind Ben Böhmer. Following a pair of ‘Black Hole’ remix cuts, the original one of many memorable moments from his acclaimed 2019 ‘Breathing’ LP, album opener ‘In Memoriam’ now receives the rework treatment courtesy of seasoned UK producer Tim Green.

Having released on All Day I Dream, Cocoon and Get Physical, we warmly welcome Tim into the fold and mark his Anjunadeep debut with a fresh take on Ben’s emotive tribute ‘In Memoriam’. Retaining the key harmonic elements of the original track, Tim’s groove-heavy remix demonstrates why he’s been supported by some of the biggest DJs in his field including Sven Vath, Kölsch, Sasha and Pete Tong.

Bruno has been releasing under the moniker Citizen Kain for the best part of 15 years, finding homes for his forthright techno on a multitude of influential labels. The Frenchman has also garnered support from the heavyweights of the scene such as Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Solomun, Dubfire and Richie Hawtin, and this release on Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds will further bolster his reputation. Soundwagon is a hard hitting techno burner with razor sharp edges - super precise percussion, thick, deep drums, and a massive wobbly synth line bring the whole thing together before an audacious drop. Ollie & The Shadows is similarly thrilling - a rolling, rollicking banger with tension-raising blasts of white noise and deceptively funky drum programming.

As we venture towards the heart of summer’s conclusion, we are ecstatic to release one of the label’s favorite projects to date.

Mitch Oliver and Maaruo represent the thriving community of dance music in Montreal; a city also home to the When We Dip team, and a pillar of the creative direction behind the way we run the labels and media platform. As many have before them, the two were regulars on dancefloors across the city before moving into the studio and harnessing their love of electronic music as creators.

Each of the producers have made important strides in the early days of their solo careers, including Mitch’s EP on Magician on Duty and Maaruo’s remix of Budakid right here on XYZ. They’ve also found a distinct knack for partnership, as is evident in their joint track Corne Mistur which was released with Akbal Music.

Same Light will surely continue to turn heads and capture ears for the two Montrealers. It has that something special, an indescribable quality found in the tunes we love the most, no matter the genre. The all-Quebecois team for Same Light includes Beyries, one of the province's most beloved singer-songwriters. Her jaw dropping vocals glide naturally over the crisp arrangement from Mitch and Maaruo, harnessing melancholic prose of somber romance. Instrumentally, percussive flair and fluttering pads carry the words in perfect harmony; A tune that will write it’s own story. 

Hernan Cattaneo needs no introduction, as he’s a masterful figure within melodic music. A massive inspiration for Maaruo and Mitch, it’s an honor to have him a part of the project as he remixes Same Light with his comrade Martin Garcia. Cattaneo and Garcia lengthen the arrangement, bringing progressive and club-driven tones to the sultry vocals. A masterpiece from the maestro for late night affairs.

Erdi Irmak is no stranger to the scene, and an established purveryover of touching productions on the likes of Tale & Tone and Hoomidas. He pays homage to the original’s understated moments, while placing weight on the groove to give the remix immense dance-ability.
