TOR and the When We Dip team proudly continue the label’s signature release series with the third edition of the Tales of Romance VA. As we continue to set the foundations of TOR’s sound and creative direction, this series showcases the pillars of the imprint in the years to come, and provides an explorative platform for our family of producers.

Rashid Ajami makes his TOR debut with our A-side on the project- Music is my Medicine. Through work with the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Atjazz, the Londoner has built a sterling reputation with releases on Get Physical, Einmusika, Anjunadeep, and Tale & Tone. A meandering piano melody opens the show, as the synth lead and bassline build to welcome a vocal offering fit for the times.

GRDN. makes his return on Manual Deep after last years Bommern EP. His productions are always very exciting and free of any genre limitations which you'll find out here when listening to his lovely new EP titled 'Neuwerk'.

We kick things off with the title track, a lovely leftfield piece of dancefloor electronica. Mysterious and lush, this captivates from beginning until the end.

'Straelen' is a proper continuation of the journey with it's catchy vocal hook, techno beats, warm bassline and delicate sounds. Truly a unique and stand out track this one.

Then we welcome Manual Deep resident artist B.A.X. with not one, but two remixes! A deep melodic house version of 'Straelen' and a beatless reinterpretation of 'Neuwerk'- both in his by now famous trademark sound.

To finish the release in style we welcome a new name on board the label. GRIFE are a duo from Brazil who you might know from their releases on TRYBESof and Mango Alley-or of course their song 'Nighthawks' with Sarah Chilanti- a well received free download on Manual Music's Soundcloud channel. They bring the summer to your doorstep with their organic house rework.

'Montreal-based producer Tyler W makes his debut as an artist with a fantastic first release on Hicky & Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records. His track 'Scorpion Rising' is a melancholic piece filled with beautiful melodies.

On remix duties, Erdi Irmak changes the tone of the track to create a gentle and pleasing organic house ballad. The handsome flute and enchanting bird sounds form an appeasing symbiosis.

Last but not least, Paul Kardos twists the original track into a progressive house weapon that will hypnotize the dancer with driving drums and emotive synth.

Having shared the decks with everyone from Cubicolor to Martin Roth, and having a debut EP on Bedrock earlier this year, Canada's juSt b is swiftly becoming a name too hard to ignore. Her debut release on Balance delivers an exceptionally cerebral track that will sit flush in many sets. Also featured are four quality remixes that take in everything from deep techno, to breaks and more…

The deep beat on 'Light Sweeper' is undeniable with its mysterious energy. Glacial synths sweep the top end while being punctured by pondering piano stabs. There is bipolar nature to the production: warm and enveloping in the lows yet cold and wintry in the highs. It's a steady rhythm intent on intoxicating you. 

The @audioglider remix reconstitutes the original into a thick, almost Amen breaks like direction. The synths are blown up to an optimal size and layered into a melodic sequence, keeping the original mystery. The breakdown is progressive house bliss, melancholy without being saccharine, before crashing back into the rhythm with added vocal by juSt b and soaring strings. 

@jameswelsh's deep techno take is filled with percolating percussive hits and melodic arps weaving in and out of each other with total abandon. Featuring a considerably bigger kick, this is one to kickstart the main room. 

The @mattrmusic remix starts off minimal with a deep meta physical engine, a hulking rhythm that slowly moves forward. Two separate breakdowns introduce a rising melody soaked in emotion, and the latter explodes into a 4/4 pattern that will sound divine on a dusty festival dancefloor. 

If you're after the perfect opening track, look no further than the elegant remix from @ev3rsun. With its delightful opening 2 minute sequence, it is one part ambient and one part secret waiting to be told. It breaks into a gentle rhythm that sets the mood for what's to follow.
