O cenário minguante de música eletrônica em Tocantins se assemelha ao cerrado, vegetação local que devido ao solo pouco nutritivo obriga a flora ter raízes longas para buscar nutrientes. De maneira análoga, o jovem Tonaco, de 23 anos, precisou abranger e aprofundar muito sua pesquisa, a fim de encontrar referências musicais longe da realidade de sua região. Its been cracking summer here in old Melbourne town. There's been some amazing festivals and parties and the weather has held up nicley. With Autumn now upon us I thought its a good time to drop a new mix with some of my favourite tunes I've playing the last few months. 
Its pretty energetic & played in an intimate setting with a few close friends before heading out to see Keinmusik do their thing!

Goodbye Summer (2024)

Paul Losev—the NYC/Miami-based founder of @naturecallsrecordings—boasts a stellar resume with releases on @worldsapartmusik, @songuaramusic, @stellarfountain, and @suprematic_sounds. For this week’s thirty-seventh Moonlight Mixtape, he’s packed a plethora of originals and aural nostalgia into a mix that—at exactly one hour long—definitely understands the assignment.

The vibrant opening track—his own “The Partét (Acoustic Version)”— feels like peering beyond the confines of daily life into a hidden consciousness that’s rich with rhythm and texture. A number of bootlegs recall a host of melodic memories, from JD Davis’ classic “The World Is Mine” vocals, to an organic rework of A-Ha’s “Take On Me.” Last week’s gorgeous Erdi Imrak collaboration “Runaway” (Songuara) is a highlight of the mix, and an hour that infuses progressive, electro, and vintage vibes ties up on an ambient note with Losev’s rework of A.M.R.’s “Sailor’s Cry.”

El título de mi canción "Mirada al Cielo" representa a Heru (Horus) en la antigua Kemet; simboliza la visión, la elevación y la búsqueda constante de reinos superiores. Así como la mirada de Heru estaba fija en el cielo, esta canción transmite esa misma energía: elevarse, buscar la claridad y canalizar la perspectiva divina.

Para mí, "Mirada al Cielo" no es solo un título; es un reflejo tanto del espíritu ancestral de Kemet como del viaje del sonido que eleva al oyente.

The title of my track Skyward Gaze represents Heru (Horus) in ancient Kemet; symbolizing vision, elevation, and the constant striving towards higher realms. Just as Heru’s gaze was fixed on the skies, this track carries that same energy: rising above, seeking clarity, and channeling divine perspective.

For me, Skyward Gaze isn’t just a title, it’s a reflection of both the ancient spirit of Kemet and the journey of sound that lifts the listener upwards.
