We found another cocktail classic, that has not yet been used in the Schirmchendrink menu (and we're slowly but surely approaching the magic number of 200 cocktails!): Lipsmackingly sweet and sour, the Cosmopolitan cocktail of Vodka, cranberry, orange liqueur and citrus is a good-time in a glass. Irene Radice's interpretation is perfect for a party, like the cocktail!

Irene Radice is an Italo-Venezuelan electronic music dj and producer based in Milano, Italy. Soon she'll announce a release on Manual Music with early support by industry heavy weight Eelke Kleijn in his DAYS like NIGHTS mix series, for example. Past releases include originals and remixes on Emerald & Doreen, Trixxter, Society 3.0 or Cinematique.

Always telling a tale, capturing a moment suspended in a timeless joy, synchronised to beats in both past and present, weaving an harmonic dance across the chosen musical spectrum - whether it's a soft house set, a club hypnotic journey, a dreamy wave movement or anything in between.

Her work presents a balance between energy and minimalism which reflects a mild and ecletic vision of music where ‘quality over quantity’ ideal plays a key role.

Throughout her releases you can find cosmopolitan, dreamy, minimal house journeys and sweet electronic gems, somewhere rooted between the dark and the light.

Best known for his heart-warming, emotional and melancholic sounds of House and Techno, Ollie’s YouTube hits ‘Deep Tunes For Deep Playa’ is a series of 10 sets, inspired by Burning Man, that have blown listeners away. Ollie believes music connects people and you feel it throughout each of his sets, as he is consistently able to take the listener away to a dreamy and euphoric place through his journeys.

Some of his latest projects are mixes commissioned by Deeper Sounds, Hot Situations and Emirates In-flight radio. Ollie is lined up for some beautiful upcoming summer gigs, playing as warm up for Be Svendsen and Jan Blomqvist, to name a few.

He has been lucky enough to play in some amazing places around the world and is a resident at @LostInSoundldn, which hosts a radio show on @blooplondon once a month.

Words from the artist: "I’ve never recorded such a long studio mix before and since we all can't play parties anymore, it felt good to do it. The mix reflects an all-night long set as I would play it right now, compressed into 3:33 hours. The evening starts with warm and smooth breakbeat tunes in the first half hour and are then followed by smooth deep house tracks. After that we go straight into the night with a wild ride between Progressive House and Melodic Techno. Besides some new stuff from myself I will also present upcoming releases from my label Radikon". 

BIO: Spirited emotion is the protagonist in Jonas Saalbach’s brand of electronic dance music. Deeply uplifting and body-moving, he has released eps and long players with Einmusika, Bedrock and his own imprint Radikon. Hailing from a small town in southern Germany, Jonas moved to Berlin at a young age to pursue the dream of bringing his musical vision to the world stage. A decade later, he has performed at hundreds of locations on five continents, the world-renowned Burning Man and Fusion festivals and a cliff in the Norwegian fjords for a sensational back to back Cercle performance with Einmusik broadcasted to millions of viewers. As a producer, Jonas is exceptionally prolific. His sophisticated, hardware-based style gives unusual and particular sounds a new life, morphing them into timeless dancefloor anthems filled with emotion and percussive energy. In 2018, Jonas co-founded electronic music imprint Radikon as a platform for like-minded artists. Based at his studio in the historic Funkhaus complex in Berlin, Radikon has become a collaborative epicenter with 20 critically acclaimed releases in its first two years alone. Jonas’ energetic live performance and singular brand of melodic house and techno has enthralled listeners and club-goers around the globe. As a producer, DJ, live act and label owner, he will remain a driving force in electronic music for years to come.

Ahoy, happy to share this recording from the last Atish All Night LA in 2019. I fondly reflect on this event as the most fulfilling event I’ve ever produced and one of the best crowds I’ve played for as a DJ. I’ve been lucky to have a deep and growing relationship with the LA underground scene, and this all-night warehouse party in LA was a culmination of those experiences over the last decade. This recording is a 1.5 hr slice from 2019, and I think it touches on a few of the moods I like to go into: housey, driving, progressive, deep, stripped, and minimal.

If you’re in LA this weekend, I hope you can catch Atish All Night (outdoors). I’ve moved the event from the warehouse to an open-air ranch just outside the city. This is lining up to be something special, I hope you can join.

Debuting with his own Nocturne Belle EP, Manjumasi celebrates quirky dance music that explores new territory without forgetting the dance floor. Beyond Manjumasi, Slee's original productions and remixes have been released on such imprints as Cityfox, Seven Villas, Lost Diaries, Cosmic Society, Magician On Duty, Nugget, Where the Heart Is, Proton Music, and more. In addition to regular appearances on his San Francisco home turf, Slee's style has earned him DJ sets in notable locales, such as Kater Blau and Sisyphos in Berlin, Cityfox in New York, and Robot Heart.

It was an absolute treat to perform this set at the Robot Heart residency. A fantastic space with excellent sound, closely situated to Burning Man's physical roots, celebrating a broad creative spectrum of music, lighting, and physical installation art — what's not to love? 

It was the perfect setting to debut this "A/Vfib Live" show. After 20+ years of making dance music and 10+ years working on LED art, the concept of a singular integrated performance of original audio-visual content had been slowly gathering steam in my mind. 

With this opportunity, the moment finally felt right. Huge gratitude to the whole Robot Heart team and the Defibrillator lighting crew for creating such a unique multi-media canvas to play on, for trusting me to explore new material, and for fostering so much creative development along the way. Special thanks to @shafferj for "seeing the light" many years ago and steadily encouraging this work ever since, from freezing our asses off shooting photos at night to developing supremely cozy butt-warming interior lighting environments.

We are pleased to have Nsha on Selectors this week. The French producer has just put out ‘Under Water’ in collaboration with vocalist Shamira on When We Dip Records and is set to release its follow-up, ‘Two Faced’ on AZZUR December 13th. He plays these tracks, on top of tunes from the likes of Yet More and Fka Mash, his own remix of ‘Cheap Thrills’ & ‘Bruma’ by Tchailyn, which has been released a month ago on the label.

Happy New Year to you all! Sometimes it feels each year goes by quicker and quicker, but it feels good to rewind, slow down and live in the moment! 

We are absolutely thrilled to have one of the pioneers of deep, dreamy and electronic grooves. Mark Slee doesn't need any formal introductions, but like all quality artists it is important to provide a little background and context to give you listeners a nugget of information to take away with you :) 

He's been on the scene for over 20 years and therefore has an idea of what groove is all about. Teaming up with Atish in 2016 they created the label @manjumasi , which has been a leader in releasing quality deep house productions with a hint of quirkiness to differentiate themselves from the masses. I wish I had such a challenge like this more often… I tried to sum up everything I am into this mix: besides crafting a musical travel from 85 BPM to 130 BPM, through building up a curve of cumbia, glitch, ghetto, funk, nu-soul, nu-funk and breaks, I put a little bit of everything I’m usually entertaining my crowd with; like live-looping, fader-cutting, beat-stopping, echo-coloring, fake-scratching, groove-rolling, cue points-juggling and.. er, beat-mixing… :) I have recorded this mix on Technics turntables and Pioneer DJM-700 mixer, using Rane Serato SL2 and Korg’s Nano Pad. If you want me to perform this very set or any of the musical section extended during your shows, feel free to book me - I’m spinning 5-6 hours just like that! Yet, mostly importantly, if you dig the music of this mix, then go support the independent musicians and producers of it, to help us grow music families like Fort Knox, so that we all can keep on delivering you the good music!

Neue Erkenntnisse durchströmen meinen Geist. Alles fühlt sich so wahrhaftig, so richtig an. Ich fühle mich losgelöst von jeglicher Furcht und bin bereit mich auf eine neue Welt einzulassen. Beschwingt gleite ich durch den Raum, voller Neugier was wohl als nächstes passieren wird. Langsam öffnet sich eine Tür und zwei ganz in weiß gekleidete Gestalten betreten den Raum. Im Hintergrund läuft weiter die beruhigende Musik und vermittelt mir ein Gefühl von Geborgenheit in dieser fremden Umgebung. Die neuen Besucher des Raumes stimmen in den Chorus der leisen Stimmen mit ein: „Alles ist völlig entspannt, es gibt keinen Grund dir Sorgen zu machen. Wir sind deine neuen Freunde und wollen dir eine neue Realität zeigen.“ Ihre Stimmen waren dabei so sanft und mild, als würden sie mit Engelszungen sprechen. Ich ließ mich freudestrahlend auf ihr Angebot ein und begleitete sie hinaus.
Alles wirkte hier friedlich und jeder war entspannt. Man grüßte sich und wünschte sich einen guten Tag. Jeder schien hier seinen inneren Frieden gefunden zu haben. Die Gesichtszüge der Personen hier waren gütig. Es herrschte keine Hast oder Ungeduld und doch schien hier jeder einen Auftrag zu haben. Alles war geregelt und schien einer höheren Macht zu unterliegen, die Zuversicht und Gelassenheit verbreitete. Es wirkte fast schon zu perfekt und eine leise Ungewissheit schlich sich in die heile Welt. Sie mahnte zur Vorsicht vor Traumwelten und Illusionen.

Genießt mit Bonjour Ben eine beruhigende Stunde voller positiver Energie.

Hello angel,

It has been a while. We have been travelling inwards. We spent the time trying to explore how to welcome all the change that has been taking place inside and outside ourselves. It seems this year will shake us all to the core..

To reignite our amazing SoundCloud we start with Gimérique. After an incredible first podcast we can't wait to hear your thoughts on this new masterpiece.

Belgium’s Bigasti and Switzerland’s Floloco work in tandem to bring dreamy electronic music into the air with a narrative mix of both, deep and thriving elements. After years of experience in electronic music as individual artists, Gimérique unites the signature sound of two artists to a new chapter on their promising path in the electronic music scene.

It all started with a joint DJ set released on Schirmchendrink, which the two founded together. After several joint DJ sessions they felt it was about time to take the project to the next level.

With their first collaborative production in 2020, Gimérique took Lerr's 'Hummingbird' into deep and dreamy territory. Groovy and emotive in equal measure it made an auspicious production debut for Gimerique on Sound Avenue's first edition of their 'Re:Imagined‘ remix series. Gimérique's first original production is being released in Spring 2020 and explores a more ambient landscape of their sound.

Floloco and Bigasti individually are passionate about electronic music ever since they can remember. Together, they are Gimérique.

Tim Engelhardt's 2020 album 'Idiosynkrasia' felt cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, catalysing deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking by way of its genre-bending narrative. Now, some of the long-players most precious and tender moments get reinterpreted by a stellar cast of artists, no doubt with the intimate physicality of dancing bodies in mind. The result is a killer package of three versatile cuts that, while each setting a contrast to their source material, amplify different sides of a feeling Tim's work naturally encapsulated – the flow-state. 

Melodic luminary Rodriguez Jr. reimagines the album's introspective opener 'Attached' as a progressive masterclass of deeply engulfing bass, gently cascading synths and hopeful piano variations, showcasing his one-of-a-kind grasp of subtle euphoria. In andhim's hands, the title-track 'Idiosynkrasia' then gets the b-boy treatment as the duo beef-up the original's breakbeat-driven lowend and flip Tim's idiosyncratic melodies on their head by adding a healthy dose of funk. Last but not least, Sam Shure strips 'Touch the Sky' of its organic feel, expertly rethreading Hannah Noelle's stunning vocals into a pressure-cooker of a club track.
