Red Stripe Disco is a digging project conducted by DJ Waxist which focuses on exploring the Disco / Funky / Soulful side of Jamaica (or involving Jamaican people through its diaspora around the world, in the US, the UK or Canada). Red Stripe Disco takes you to a journey into some unexplored musical territories, going through genres for which Jamaica was not especially known for, such as Disco, Modern Soul, Boogie or Funk and even Disco Rap!

The music selected here is recorded from the actual original records & is the result of countless hours of research for some of the records played!

Red Stripe Disco Vol. 3 - Selected by Waxist

Based around Manchester and hailing straight outta Bolton. I’ve been in the game for over 15 years and I continue to try and keep the quality high. Currently I’m working with my good friend Pablo Blanquito promoting a nomadic night called BETTER DAYS. 

We’ve found a real home at the First Chop Brewing Arm and we have a steady following of dancers and supporters who really believe in what we do. So far we’ve brought Mad Mats, Rahaan & Mr Mendel to the Rainy City with many more surprises up our sleeves for the future. 

Reform Radio have given us a home to air our wares the last Tuesday of each month. Expect to here music spanning many genres and styles but always with a huge helping of soul.
