Gigi Masin has had a long career writing and producing some of the loveliest, warmest, most delicate music.

Over the past ten years he has received critical acclaim and praise for a number of albums and projects which have seen him collaborate with a wide variety of labels and musicians.

From Ambient material, through to works which are at times more Psychedelic or Balearic influenced – his music has been released on the likes of Apollo, Music From Memory, Hell Yeah Recordings, Melody as Truth and many more.

He has also worked on a number of collaborative projects with the likes of Tempelhof, Jonny Nash, Young Marco and Alessandro Monti. These are but to name a few.

His latest release is a collaborative album with Greg Foat, a record on Strut which weaves its way between a number of styles and genres with intricate precision.

Given Gigi has such a lengthy and prolific career in music we felt it apt to invite him to record a mixtape which showcases some of his musical interests and passions. Whilst not a DJ, he has a broad, far reaching taste which this mixtape demonstrates.

About a half of Phuong-Dan's closing set at this year's Meakusma Festival

Phuong-Dan’s sets are a hypnotizing, compelling mixed bag of rhythms and influences. Consistently exploring moods by jumping back and forth between musical fields with some sort of defiant approach. He combines gigs all over the world with project specific works and musical programming. A good example of the latter are the Gatto Musculoso nights he hosts at Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg since 2006, which through the years have seen artists of every shape and size. Since 2021 he runs dispari – a label and platform for all kinds of auditory publications, collaborations and performances at various places.

Lola's HI/LO lounge on Madison's Northside - SHE'S A VIBE!  When I play there on occasion, I get to spread my wings a bit and spin some of my favorite JAMZ.  I usually start out the vibez with funk -n- disco into 80's and trip-hop/hip-hop... then find my way into some chill yet funky house grooves... We're lucky to have such a sweet spot in Madison, Wisconsin to play our music.  Luckily, I convinced THE MAN to let me break the speed limit a little with some deep house music vibes!  Don't worry, I keep it supremely inthe deep love zone...  AND, I was able to play test for the first time a couple of songs by Jason Velo coming from our recent vinyl release GEAR ONE on my new record label Noonish Records.
