Rey Mar is a songwriter with immense passion for the art of sound that can be heard through his versatile electric guitar, voice, and production.

An alternative rock artist with punk and pop influences heard throughout his electric guitar tones that range from distorted to clean and everything in between. Songs by Rey Mar vary from heavy guitars over bass and drums, to acoustic ballads with string instruments. From gentle whispers to scream-singing, Rey Mar’s lyrics are symbolic and metaphorical covering many topics such as love, pain, growth, horror, nature, and bittersweet dualities, all written with vivid imagery in his proverbial verses. His biggest influences are Nirvana, The Beatles, Ramones, and John Frusciante.

From East Bay California, Rey Mar started writing, recording, and producing his songs in his in-home studio in 2017. His first project was a self titled lofi alternative rock EP released in 2020, followed by groovy single ‘Orange Haze’ later that year. In 2022 he released ‘Whoa-Whoa!’ a metal song about slashers, and ‘Until My Heart Stops Beating’ a pop punk love song. Rey Mar has three new songs set to release in 2023 starting with his single ‘B4 U Go’ coming out August 4th on all music streaming platforms. The new single has an alternative pop punk sound that just makes you want to dance with its catchy riffs and upbeat drums.
