Over the past few years I have made it a custom to record a new DJ set on each Summer Solstice in celebration of the beginning of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. Here's my awesome beaming guitar makin' friend, the spectacular Stephen, aka TexMex Shaman with his super-sonic rendition of my song, Sugar Baby Clown, (from way back when), my 2005 album release, Milky Ocean. 

One fine day, simply out of the blue, Stephen came up with a most brilliant idea for us to cover one favourite song from each-other...and well, I picked his kickin' Newly and then he decided to rock out on my cheeky Sugar Baby Clown. Wow, and what a m-a-j-o-r surprise my song turned out to be & you will surely see.

An old track of ours remixed, remastered, to take advantage of some knowledge I have acquired over the last few years. Also replayed the piano and added a few things to make the line a little more interesting. Lastly, I changed some bass notes in the hope of pulling it all together better. And you have to visit Gina and Davy to hear more of their great music.

All the sounds you are about to hear are made from real instruments, I used 3000 year old Mayan ,Aztec and Inca flute samples.
Ancient civilizations didn't used the same notes we use today, those early musical instruments like flutes were just mimicking what they heard in the rainforest, animals like birds, owls, wolfs, parrots etc...
This is by far the largest piece I wrote and I am exhausted.

All Hallow's Eve

Recently I've delved into trying to do my own versions of some of the great and eerie music from 60s television shows. For this Halloween I wanted to rework this piece by Charles Gounod that found it's way into providing the theme for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents series in the sixties. I give you 'Funeral March of a Marionette (Marche funèbre d'une marionnette). It was originally written for solo piano in 1872 and orchestrated in 1879. This kind of stuff—exposed to me through black and white television signals—played a big part in my early love of music in general.

I used a combination of woods and strings along with some other bits and bobs.
