Joining the X-Kalay roster for his debut EP, Slim Steve delivers four impressive cuts of infectious, lust infused house. Produced on an array of hardware in Steve’s bedroom in Rome, this is a refreshingly honest EP and takes the label into somewhat nostalgic territory. 

90’s ballads meet sampled italo percussion, skittish pitched up vocals pierce dangerous basslines and lung busting breakdowns give way to searching lasers in smoke filled rooms. English born Italian Steve Langrish accomplishes all this with a level of effortlessness that belies his astonishingly young years. 

An impressive debut for sure. Watch this space – Slim’s comin!

Bedroom Tapes is comprised solely of lost material from a recently discovered box of cassettes that emerged in the process of a house move. These tracks capture some of Paul Woolford’s most wide-eyed and naïve creative impulses at a tender age. Seemingly lost forever, some were part of sessions that led to him being signed to now-defunct UK techno imprint Blue Basique. This is the first chapter in this archive and an intimate portrait of the artist at a key stage of his creative development.

The tracks have been carefully mastered with a loving hand by Matt Colton who has been meticulous to retain their idiosyncrasies.

On 2018’s ‘Voids’, long-time Berghain / Panorama Bar resident Martyn [@3024world] returned to his deep, percussive roots, nimbly constructing complex webs of rhythm, melody and inventive basslines centered around a near-death experience. Since then, the Dutch producer has been set on a different musical path focusing on spatial and emotional depth in listening and production. 

‘Odds Against Us’ picks up where ‘Voids’ left off, pursuing a sampling spirit innovated by drum 'n' bass, but operating independent of BPM.
