Bristol drum & bass label X-AMNT present “Shredder / Sinder”, the latest release from their brand-new signing Nuke. Originally hailing from Johannesburg, Nuke moved to Bristol in 2008 and immersed himself in the local drum & bass scene, connecting with producers and attending club nights. With a release on Audio Entropy already under his belt, “Shredder / Sinder” is a fine addition to the growing back catalogue of a promising producer.

Title track ‘Shredder’ kicks off with heady percussion, morphing bass lines and atonal samples. There’s no drop here, as Nuke prefers to use various sounds to create a sustained vibe from start to finish. ‘Shredder’ is deep, dark and dangerous, taking influence from the minimal Bristol strand of drum & bass and sure to lock off a rave as soon as it hits the speaker.

‘Sinder’ is packed full of mutant samples that give the introduction an ominous feel. These sounds fluidly transition into layered rhythm patterns and crunching bass as Nuke deploys a mangled lead line over the top of them. Another minimal banger from the Bristol-based producer, the fact that he can create engaging soundscapes with only a few elements is a testament to his production skills.

“Shredder / Sinder” will drop exclusively on Juno Download and Spotify on 15th October, seeing a full release to all digital platforms a week later on 22nd October.

Esteemed drum & bass imprint X-AMNT return with Lo-Key EP, the latest release from producer Kravitz. Hailing from Bath, England, Kravitz marks his return to the label with the record, having released 'Flux' at the back end of 2021. 

Thanks to his years spent behind the decks as a DJ, Kravitz knows what makes dancefloors tick, and on the Low-Key EP, he's transferred that knowledge into his productions. Face-melting bass lines and acute percussion make this EP one to remember. 

Title track 'Low-Key' opens the record. Here, driving percussion sets a steady groove while waves of distorted bass crash around them. It's all tied together with a vocal: "stay low key, let them assume". It's a fitting mantra for the tune's concentrated dose of energy. 

'You've Got It' kicks off with heavy kick patterns and synth lines that shine like bright lights. Later, an amorphous low-end riff joins the mix. Intercut with pummelling breaks and samples; it's screwface business, indeed. 

The EP's penultimate track, 'What The F**k', is a blend of quickfire drums and gritty bass lines. The latter element, distorted and fuzzy, bend over the rhythmic framework, sure to cause dancefloor chaos from beginning to end. 

'Africa' closes the release. A colossal track, the bass lines sprawl over nimble percussion work, and brief melodic samples garnish the heavyweight sonic framework. 

Lo-Key EP will arrive on Juno Download & Spotify on 31st May, landing on all digital platforms a week later on 7th June.

X-AMNT presents Dragon EP 2, the latest record from DJ and producer Subcriminal. The follow-up to his 2021 EP, Dragon, Subcriminal delivers a vision of drum & bass that balances hard and soft textures. Blissful synth work is backed by punchy rhythm lines, resulting in an imaginative body of work with plenty of exciting ideas. 

'Chapters' kicks off the EP. Bright chords shine in the introduction before warm sub-bass joins the mix. Subcriminal drops a quick break sample, and we're into the verse, where sturdy percussion, warbling bass, and pitched vocal samples create a euphoric atmosphere. 

'Shimmy' is up next. Lush chords engulf the ear in the introduction before the track descends into a dancefloor smasher. It's all in the arrangement. Skittering drum lines, creeping bass sounds, and weightless pads makes the listener elicit a screwface and lose their mind. 

'Dragon Quest' is built around an eerie melody, which is eventually chopped up and layered in the mix alongside crunching riffs, warbling low-end and hard-hitting percussion.  'Flashing Lights' is strictly for the dancefloor, defined by rave-inspired vocal cuts and big-room bass sounds designed to get bodies moving. 

'Old Stories' closes the EP. Subcriminal lays down a driving rhythm section that propels the tune forward, but the real stand-out is the stirring melody line. Deep and exploratory, it conjures up that end-of-night feeling, where the night bleeds into the morning, and all that's left is good friends and better memories. 
Dragon EP 2 will arrive to Juno Download & Spotify on 24th August, landing on all digital platforms a week later on 31st August.

X-AMNT are back with a brand-new body of work from label manager Kickback in the shape of a heavy-hitting 2-track Single dubbed ‘Ecto/Blow’. 

The independent Bristol-based music label was founded by Bunjy and Kickback, after two like-minded artists united to form an exciting new Jungle/DnB record brand.

Kickback is a long-standing DJ and producer with a wealth of musical talent under his belt. Having an impressive discography and support network, the Bristol born artist translates his undeniable passion for Jungle & Drum and Bass into each set and piece of work he puts out. 

Having previously taken up residency in Bristol venues Lakota and Blue Mountain, Kickback has seen support from the likes of TC, Kenny Ken and Rinse FM, to name a few. 

‘Ecto/Blow’ comprises of two unique tracks that perfectly portray Kickback and his infectious sound. Each individual production explores his highly seasoned soundscape with fluctuating basslines and scintillating drum patterns. From start to finish, the EP takes its listener on a nostalgic journey laden with jungle-esque elements and an infectious essence of Jungle and DnB as Kickback remembers it from the age he fell in awe of the genres. 

‘Ecto/Blow’ will be available to stream exclusively on Juno and Spotify from 15th December 2022, with the full worldwide release coming a week later on 22nd December 2022.
