Timmo’s debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ carries a flow through out that gives Timmo his own unique sound that has captured the ears of many highly revered techno DJ’s around the world. Timmo uses hypnotic sounds and phrases whilst he always maintains a thumping techno beat that underlies all the tracks within this EP to maximum effect. Furthermore, there is a ghostly feel amongst Timmo’s tracks that really provide him with his acquired sound, the pads in ‘Canvas’ are a beautiful reminder of this. Timmo also uses strong synth stabs to full effect that juxtapose against the drums to help create the tension and aggression that is present within techno.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

Joran van Pol quickly follows up the impressive inaugural release on his own new FADE label with a second sizzling offering. It features more of his techno originals with a remix from Egbert that boosts an already solid package.

This new project from van Pol comes after amassing a fine discography with releases on labels like Minus, Rejected, Sci+Tec and Ideal Audio. As such he has the support of all of Techno’s big hitters who often reach for his tunes and as a DJ he is just as in demand, with headline slots everywhere from Space Ibiza to TimeWarp all behindhim.

Things kick off in stern fashion with the rock solid ‘Awakening’, a supple techno roller with industrial sound designs, desolate synth landscapes and unsettling white noise and muffled voices all urging you to dance. Dutchman Egbert from labels like Cocoon
and Gem then steps up and unhinges the track by layering in nervy pads and urgent synth lines that wrap the whole thing up in a fine sense of tension.

The standout ‘Catalyst’ is the other great offering from van Pol, a beautifully bleak and sleek number with gurgling bass synths, driving drums and flashes of thunder and lightening that really add drama to the whole experience. 

A suspenseful and deep track ‘Denial’ is a bonus Spotify inclusion and Beatport also get an exclusive in the form of a soundscape tool version of Awakening.

This is dark but detailed modern techno and marks a splendid second outing for FADE.

The latest edition of our Breaking New Soil series proves that time flies when you´re having fun: This is number 10! Once again presented by label head Gregor Tresher, and this time with two exciting contributions by the man himself, we are proud to announce a very versatile lineup: We have Hybrasil, who Gregor met at a gig in Dublin, presenting a beast of a peaktime track with „Flexo“. Returning to the label is Ferdinando Apicella from Naples, better known as Kernel Key, who delivers another non-conforming techno jam that will go big with all the real Techno heads. Next up we have label favorite Fac3off - returning with not one but two amazing tracks presenting his signature sound - we´re sure we´ll be hearing a lot more from this talent in the future! The Yellowheads, hailing from Spain, had a storming EP release on BNS last year and return in very strong shape with „Caelum“. Last but not least there is Antipolar from Cologne, with whom Gregor recently shared the decks at Cologne underground club „Gewoelbe“ - he´s new to the label and is debuting with a very unique sounding production called „Mandal“. We hope you enjoy playing and listening to Breaking New Soil Volume 10 as much as we enjoyed compiling it.

Having thawed the winters chill with his Elements EP earlier this year, SCI+TEC regular Alex Mine returns to warm our bones with his Time Lapse EP, and fresh from being selected as one of the key artists to feature on the label’s 10 Years of SCI+TEC compilation, with his ’Name Of What’ track, the Italian promptly delivers a fresh and weighty new four track selection. 

The title track leads the EP with its huge kick, echoing vocal spikes and synth chords to create a tense but electrifying atmosphere. ‘Egoes’ follows, pushing the tempo with its tight groove and frenzied acid line to create a powerful dancefloor moment. 

From that piercing peak to the dreamy depths of ‘Forth Dimension’ and its delicate, inviting bassline and simple melody. A soothing slice and one that readies us for the rugged tribal stomp of the brilliant and elegantly twisted closer, ‘Krantor’.
