This track was initially released as a WIP on Soundcloud, then re-released as a part of a double album "Drum & Bass Payload". I've got a lot of positive feedback about it and many people said it's catchy so I decided to put it up to the competition. Plus I really like this child of mine. I especially enjoy the broken beats.
The name of the track comes from the fact that all melodic instruments (that is: excluding drums) are build upon sawtooth oscilators. The artwork is a graphical pun: a heart made from saw waves offset in phase.

Sawtooth Love

In 1987 a little known RPG game was released on the PC-98 and MSX2 called Hydlide 3: The Space Memories. It was probably the only Hydlide game that was any good, as those before it, and Virtual Hydlide, were well... let's be honest... rubbish! At least, in my opinion anyway. Hydlide 3 had some amazing music, and this was one of them. Slightly arranged and with a loop point, although back in hindsight I have no idea why I added one. *shrugs* The original data was resynthed specifically for SoundCloud, as an older version exists in my compilation album: Journeyman.

Sequenced and resynthed by Koretetsu. The original was composed by Shigeru Tonita (referred to as Tommy).

The Beginning

I initially made this song with OpenMPT for the OrganiCompo.  Then I imported it to Ardour, remade the instruments with Zynayumi and finished it with Ardour's Tracker Interface.
