Jacob Meehan, a native of Roodhouse, Illinois (population 1,700) cut his chops in Chicago, the home of house, while working at Gramaphone Records and throwing/playing parties in and around the city. A major player in the new queer underground, he now resides in Berlin where he has furthered his musical prowess as producer and resident DJ of the much-beloved fête, Buttons, and the epic summer standout, Whole Festival. 

Major Records is pleased to feature the very first single release from Meehan, featuring a remix by our very own Nita Aviance. "Hier" started out with a nod to the forefathers, referencing David Morales and Frankie Knuckles mix of Alison Limerick's "Where Love Lives,” but quickly grew into a deep house dream full of funky synth leads and anthemic arpeggios all layered over some kicky-fresh beats. 

Nita’s remix strips it all down only to build it back up again, leaning into the arpeggios and riding those new wave synths through the dark night and straight into the dawn with her signature diva vocal cut-ups.

WELCOME TO MY VERY FIRST PROJECT! 

I am extremely excited for this drop. 

Track 1 - "WELCOME!!" is the song that made me want to create something more cohesive than just dropping singles, which. I must say, is still very fun! 

Track 2 - "EXPLORE" This is when all I could think about was making electronic style of music, I believe  that excited energy shines throuhg on this particular song.

Track 3 - "FORCE FOR GOOD" I wanted to break up the project without sacrificing the energy/feel and vibe of it, so I made a slower yet still very spacey interlude to make your listening experience all the more enjoyable! 

Track 4 - "Parallel" I put this song here to up the energy a bit whilst still clawing on to the relaxed ambient vibe I had built throughout the project. 

Track 5 - "HIVEMIND" This name feel perfect as the crunchy piano feels to me like a nest of insects. However slightly insane that may sound, it is exaclty the feel I get from it, except I am watching a nest of insects through a screen so I feel safe from them nasty hornets, Or whatever...
(Absolute waffle but Ive gotta write something here)
