Description: Finally got some studio monitors. Trying to nail a semi decent metalcore guitar tone with the HD500, and slowly learning how to make superior drummer sound better. Very slow process but getting there! Just some throwaway riffs against a simple beat, nothing too fancy.

So this was my first band about 13 years ago. We were a pop punk band called Rain At Night and the song is called Frozen Doll. 

We loved early AFI, obviously, haha. I played a squire Jazz bass and our claim to fame was opening for The Bleeders in the back room of Youthzone haha. 

I had a lot of fun with this band and I went on to do a hardcore band with the drummer called The Warpath. Good times, no shame. Well, maybe a tiny amount but hey, what did your first band sound like? haha.

TL;DR - All of this was done in half an hour, tone creating, recording, mixing, everything. As a result it's not a super clean performance or mix, but it was just an extreme test upon a first time trying out BIAS Desktop.

Long version. I just upgraded to Yosemite (I hadn't upgraded my operating system since 10.6.8 so I was reluctant out of fear of losing anything) in order to be able to use the new BIAS Desktop plugin from Positive Grid, and I figured to really test out how useable it is I would limit myself to half an hour from opening logic to create a decent sounding mix.

So here's a snippet of the Red Seas Fire song Tyrants, with BIAS Desktop shaping the tone of the guitars and the bass.

Heard these ideas from John Browne of the UK band monuments and thought I would track some vocals to them. He has a really interesting sound going on here, almost massive attack meets Sikth.
