With the Victoria EP, to be released on October 2nd via Kuukou Records, Simina Grigoriu and Joonas L’s family pay tribute to the Finnish producer, who sadly passed away in May 2019 at his home in Helsinki due to an unexpected shock. Simina remembers Joonas as "the kindest person" she's ever known, "always thinking of others before himself". Joonas L's music will always have a place in Simina's sets and those of the other Kuukou artists as soon as the coronavirus allows us to dance again. And the last three deliveries from him come in this EP, of which we discover today its second track, "First Contact". This is Joonas's raviest version, in which the melodic arpeggios are impregnated with acidic frequencies to drive the audience to the height of madness. "That's the situation in which I see Joonas L now", says Simina. Rest in peace.

In May 2019, the electronic music community mourned the heart-breaking loss of one of its brightest young stars, when Finnish DJ and producer Joonas L tragically passed away in his home city of Helsinki.
One of the most exciting emerging talents on the European techno circuit, with huge releases clocked on the likes of Kuukou Records, Gorilla Recordings, LS City Records and Tube & Berger’s Kittball, Joonas’ trademark output also enjoyed heavy support from some of the biggest names in the industry, including Adam Beyer, Coyu, Ilario Alicante, Len Faki and Anna, to name just a few.
Now, just over a year since his passing, Joonas’ family and friends honour both his life and his sadly abbreviated musical career with a posthumous EP release, complete with three of the finest, previously unreleased tracks from Joonas’ white label catalogue.
Due for worldwide release on October 2 via Simina Grigoriu’s Kuukou Records, Joonas L’s Victoria EP marks the late producer’s sophomore outing on the Berlin-based imprint, following the critically acclaimed, internationally celebrated release of his Kinky Panda EP back in March 2019.
Igniting the EP with the driving, peak-time opener and title track Victoria, Joonas’ exquisite production credentials shine through for all to hear, as pounding kicks and industrial samples combine with techy leads to masterful effect. Switching things up for the middle order with the huge seven-minute cut, First Contact, pulsating acid basslines and arpeggiated synth lines provide the backbone of EP, before Joonas completes a remarkable final journey on Kuukou with the fitting, groove-filled closer, Cut This.

La atrevida figura del techno Drumcomplex se ha mantenido ocupada, a pesar de la actual pausa en el club. Encerrado en el estudio, donde nadie más que sus colaboradores más cercanos podía entrar, ha elaborado su tercer álbum, que consta de once pistas originales. Es un lanzamiento que muestra su estilo bien redondeado y calculado, con la típica huella de Drumcomplex, al tiempo que incorpora influencias más recientes.

'The Story Of Now' es la La pieza central épica de LP, con sutiles toques de rupturas y una variedad de percusión contagiosa y sintetizadores metálicos. Si bien todas las pistas se pueden definir como techno, el sonido del productor las habilidades de diseño son evidentes, considerando la variedad de paisajes sonoros que atravesamos pista por pista.
