Jackie Chain is a native son of Huntsville, AL. Jackie realized his love for rap music at an early age while he was growing up in trailer parks and listening to his favorite rap groups such as Eightball and MJG, UGK, 3-6 Mafia, and Too Short. Jackie won many local talent shows by the time he was in 5th grade by displaying his unique ability to rap and win over a crowd. The fact that Jackie is half Asian added to his reputation as people began to take notice of his talents. Jackie lived a troubled childhood moving from home to home across many different states. His  mother left him at the age of two, and to this day he still has not spoken a word to her, nor does he even knows if she's alive. At age 16 he was kicked out of his father's house and turned to the streets. Within a month he had a 5 bedroom house with a pool and several cars, all while he was still in high school. All his hustling finally caught up to him, and by the age of 18 he had two felonies and was looking at doing time in prison. During his two years of incarceration, for the distribution of narcotics, Jackie worked on his love of hip-hop. Even Jackie Chain's name came out of his time in prison. Jackie's time in the pen helped mold him into the artist, and buisiness man, he is today. Having spoken to alot of people, and having read a ton of books, Jackie learned about the music industry. He eventually came to realize that music was his true calling. Jackie has had the fortune to have preformed in cities such as Atlanta, Panama City, New York, and Oakland to name a few. He has opened for groups such as TI, Paul Wall, 3-6 Mafia, Mike Jones, Lil Boosie, Lil Weebie, Master P, and Bone Thugs amongst many others. For three years Jackie has been the only local artist to share the main stage with National Acts at the annual WEUP Black Arts Festial in front of 50,000 people. He is always on the grind, regardless if it's TJ's DJ's, the SEA Awards, the Ozone Awards, Allstar Games, Core DJ's retreats, or the BET Hip Hop awards. Jackie has been in articles such as the Patiently Waiting section in Ozone Magazine, the top songs to download for '08 in SPIN magazine, and the next 100 artist to blow in URB magazine just to name a few. He was on an FYE tour promoting his single, off his album WHOAMI, that debuted at #10 and peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hip Hop and R&B single charts. He moved over 10,000 units in retail stores, and on the streets. His next single "Rollin" took the country by storm! With a trance beat, and a Gucci Mane hook, Jackie gained the interest of many major labels. This interest led to spins on various radio stations, and in many clubs. With a strong industry buzz, and an even bigger street buzz, Jackie finally teamed up with Nigil Mack of Universal/Motown. This newfound partnership led to a record deal with Touchzone Records, a label Jackie owns with two other partners. He is now working on his latest cd, which is getting ready to be released by Touchzone/Universal Motown. Jackie has won different Hip Hop performances such as the M.I.C. conference in Birmingham, AL. He has also received the Mixtape of the Year award at the Dead Serious Awards, also known as the underground Grammys, for his WHOAMI mixtape hosted by DJ Burnone. Within a year of moving to Atlanta, GA he won the Almost Famous Showcase, the Eastside and the Westside Poole Palace, the Road to Success at 112, and he was invited to the Best of the Best twice at the Royal Peacock. His song "Blinded by the Light" won 4 times in a row on the 107.9 Battlegrounds with the Durty Boyz. "Rollin" won on 95.7 jamz. Jackie has been able to do songs with some huge names such as Bun B, Lil Weebie, Kiashine, Shawty lo, and Haystack. He has had the pleasure of working with, and is currently working with, producers such as Grammy Award winning Wonder & DJ Toomp, Tom Slick, Package Store of Colipark Music, M16 (Duffle Bag Boyz), and Grammy Award winning Justice League. Jackie has several intros for various stations, and is in rotation at WEUP in Huntsville, AL. He is also in rotation, and on several mix-shows, all over the country. The Internet is going crazy, as far as Switzerland and Berlin, where "Rollin" is the #1 requested song. In Birmingham "Blinded by the Light" is in constant rotation on Good Fellas Radio. Jackie is currently promoting his Mixtape WHOAMI, and his new single "Rollin", across the Southeast. Jackie is creating a buzz that only an artist of his caliber can create. Some stories birthed and illustrated in the hood never leave city limits. And for some, music is more than just an outlet. It's an escape. Born and raised in North Minneapolis, Mac Irv’s gift for rhyming began at an early age, most of which he learned from his grandfather along with living across the street from Cornbread Harris, father of Grammy award winning producer Jimmy Jam. At 9 years old, Mac Irv started a rap group and was making rhymes in his basement.

His gift for music went undisclosed for many years as his talent for basketball required a full commitment. After receiving a scholarship to the University of Minnesota, Mac Irv exceeded athletic expectations, placing him as an All-Big Ten Player from 2006-2008. Graduating with a degree in Business Marketing, the Gopher player's athletic ability was unknowingly deteriorating slowly. His professional career overseas was eventually cut short after a serious hip injury. Shortly after at the age of 25, Mac Irv became a father to a baby girl. Despite battling depression while simultaneously taking on new responsibilities of parenthood, Mac Irv’s passion for music was soon reignited.

With support from his Pilot Life Team Tre Adams and producer Willie Wonka, Mac Irv developed smooth, quick rap lines and metaphors reflecting his experience on the Northside, the ups and downs of relationships, and lessons extracted from sports. Things quickly progressed and his career as an artist was solidifying. 

“Got Me Open” was released on Youtube as his first single, but it was “Hometown” that allowed him to ultimately represent for Minnesota, embodying the nickname, “Hometown Hero”. In 2014, Mac Irv toured with Rhymesters artist Prof and his single “The Cycle” was nationally featured on MTV Jams. During that same year, Irv was selected to perform at Soundset, in company with Nas, Wiz Khalifa, and 2 Chainz. 

Continuing to be a voice for his community, his loyalty for Minneapolis is undimmed. After several projects and local shows consistently selling out, Mac Irv’s ambitions brought him to perform at South by Southwest. His mixtape, "Sincerely Mac Irv” was featured on DatPiff and received an immense amount of feedback from his fans - which are known as his “fam base”. 

Exposing disparities in his neighborhood through lyrics, Mac Irv has earned a place in the Hip Hop arena of Minneapolis. Heavily affected by death and incarceration of friends throughout the years, he continues to persevere through the oppression that confronts his community by inspiring a little bit of everyone.
