Jordan has been one of my favorite composers on flat for quite a long time. Ever since he and I did a section together in the Antibattle I realized how great our styles intertwined. This song felt so natural to me, Jordan's melodies inspired my own and together we made a piece I believe we are both extremely proud of. Freyja from Callisto System and I are two people attained of anxiety, in which many people generalize as just stress, and as a harmless disorder. However, anxiety causes many people different kinds of consequences. In this song, we musically portray our emotions towards anxiety and how we imagine anxiety as a musical piece.

In my experience, I currently experience Anxiety nearly daily. Despite being a response to stress, as it can be understood for events such as an interview, test, etc… My personal anxiety is also about those events, but at a much higher intensity, and because of every action I take. The questions “did I do this right” or also “I hope I didn’t offend anybody” run through my head constantly after each bit of conversation with someone, or when taking decisions. The song is stating sentences implying that everybody knows what anxiety is, but don’t know its deeper meanings. For example, the sentences “Anxiety is not stress” and “Anxiety is more than stress” show that people refer to anxiety as stress, which is not specifically true. In this song, you will experience what anxiety is and the emotions it conveys.

I wrote this piece for @the_music_poet competition. The general idea was to create a rock or metal piece and then fuse other genres in there. I decided to have a rock base and fuse in some jazz, classical, and pop. I had a really great time writing this piece, and I hope you have an equal amount of fun listening!

Max woke up at 3:00 AM to the sound of millions of footsteps, the closest ones belonging to his roommates. The two other guys were fast asleep and stumbling towards the front door. After trying to wake them up without success, Max decided to follow them. Out in the halls of the apartment complex, all the tenants were sleepwalking. It appeared that everyone on that block and for miles around- they were all sleepwalking as well. And they were all headed in the same direction. People were jumping out of 20-story windows, trying to get to the same place the others were going and some dying in front of Max's eyes. There were some who got out of their cars. Alarms inside factories rang out in the night, but it seemed no one was awake, all except Max who marched on with the crowd. They walked for miles over all sorts of terrain, until they got to a grassy field. Max looked between the sleepwalkers and realized they were headed towards a large black lake, where not even the moon's reflection dared to go. All the people were walking into the water until it was far over their heads. Max tried to turn around but was pushed forward by the crowd. He was shoved violently into the icy waters along with many others.
And no one ever resurfaced...

Chapter 3: A Land Long Forgotten

	“A long time ago, this land was chaos,” the old man began. “The Darkness reigned, and it was made sure that there was very little resistance. It was like this for 500 years.
“But then, almost out of nowhere, three figures rose up. A dragon, human, and elf, they were each magically gifted, and agreed to expend all of their power, sacrificing their lives, to create three objects that, together, would have the power to seal away the Darkness, and cease the chaos. 
“Hold up, hold up,” Nat interrupted. “Dragons, humans, and elves? I mean, I’ve heard of humans - of course, I’m one of them - but what are these other creatures you speak of?”
“Ah, you’re right my boy,” laughed the old man. “I forgot you’re Cordian. You wouldn’t know of such things. Here, let me summarize the three races for you.
“We’ll start with the humans. Small civilizations of them are everywhere, including here, but most live up in the mountains in the northwestern corner of Aeternus. Due to where they live, they’re quite a bit isolated, having their own way of living. And dare I say, it’s a quite good way of living. They dance and they party all day and all night, free from the worries of the world around them.
“Then, you have the elves. Mischievous little beasts they are.” The man smiled to himself.  “They’re all quite small, topping out at about two feet in height. They live in the forests to the southeast, and are all quite handy with a bow. So, even though they might not look very intimidating, trust me, you don’t want to get in a quarrel with one. Trust me, I know from experience.
“And lastly, the dragons. Up in the rocky cliffs to the northeast, they lay dormant. Now those guys, you don’t want to mess with. They’re extremely intelligent, but also think of other species as ants in comparison to them, and treat them as such. It’s quite hard to start a conversation with them without them getting annoyed and ending your life right there.
“Anyways, these three races - humans, dragons, and elves - used the stones accordingly, and peace returned to Aeternus, and peace was returned. But inevitably, the Darkness is already making its return, now quicker than ever.
“In the far North, there lies a civilization of goblins, led by a human wizard by the name of Zorander; my twin brother, funnily enough. Quite the eccentric individual, that one. As of now, he’s started trying to bring back the darkness. And he is extremely close to doing so. Which is where you come in.”
“Yes… that strange stare you made at me. Explain.” Nathaniel pushed. 
“Ah, yes, that. Well, a while back, our parents got into some trouble with an old witch. She cursed them to have two sons - one to end the world, and one to prevent the other from doing so. A strange curse, but hey, I’m not the one who made it. That stare… Well, it’s something I do without realizing it. And it happens when I catch the eye of a person capable of saving Aeternus from Zorander. In fact, it’s occurred three times before, and the three people… I’m sad to say, it didn’t go well for them. And now… there’s you. I’m so very sorry to bring you into all this, but I’m afraid if you don’t help, this realm will fall right back into chaos.”
“Alright,” Rose said nonchalantly. “We gonna go get rid of this old wizard guy or just stand here awkwardly?”
“You’re certainly right, my girl,” laughed the old man, “But first, I must make some preparations. Our journey shall begin soon.”
