Album Notes
As Jimmy was recovering from surgery to repair a broken left wrist from an accident during the summer of '11, he had time to think, unable to play the guitar, about how cool it would be to be able to play again. Had time to think about how cool it would be to assemble the ultimate rock record of his soul. The sound is of a bygone era when Rock Bands ruled the stage with powerful, engaging songwriting about girls & love; without digital trickery or whining. Don't call it a concept, but when digested from top to bottom, it is likely the listener can pick out a few story lines of their own.
Jimmy began recording 4 track cassette demos for this record during November 2011. A vocally primitive version of the opener, "Wide Awake", was about a month old at the time, and served as Jimmy's crash course in 16 track analog tape. The demos consisted of mainly acoustic guitar & vocal ideas; skeletons if you will. The skeletons were transferred to 16 track, where they were fleshed out during the following year. Another six months of post-production & manufacturing followed, and you are listening to this labor of love, therapy, & ROCK!! No computers were used during the recording of this record.
