With multiple shows at TOYTOY, JHB's infamous Friday night ode to the deeper shades of dance music, she's received a tip of the hat from those indeed in the know. This mix meanders through the more delicate soundscapes laying a foundation for the journey ahead. Delving into the deeper textures she ups the ante finishing off with a few energetic selections. Perfectly paced, well-selected and seamlessly strung together.

Smalltown Beat [013] - Nataša

On November 26, I performed at "Sonic Playground", the first event of our label "Petite Victory Collective". It took place at Urban 13 in Copenhagen.

This event was special in more ways than one to me. For one thing, it was the first time ever that I was allowed to play in front of a larger audience abroad. What a feeling to see the crowd dancing to my sounds - a true magical moment. The atmosphere was great and I received great feedback after the performance. 

I celebrate this momentum I decided to release the performance! It’s now available for pre-order on Bandcamp: "Live In Copenhagen" features 6 tracks plus the entire performance mixed together. They represent in a way the return to my former „Dawless“ sound, which I had to adopt for re-creation with my new DAW setup.

Some tracks are coming from my favorite genre, Dubhouse. I love to play endlessly around with chords and atmospheres using reverb and delay. I added a lot of textures to these tracks, which is my second favorite musical thing to do. But there are also rather untypical dance sounds like on "Heavy Traffic".

About Ekstendia:

Ekstendia (real name Andrey Afanasiev) originally from the cold Murmansk in Russia. He's Passion and love for electronic music came in 1998, when Andrey first heard acid techno and acid trance tracks. Since 2000, He acted as only a vinyl DJ. Since 2002 he has actively participated in club life.Played on one stage with Burnski (James Burnham), Falko Brocksieper and other equally interesting DJs and producers. In 2012, together with his colleague Mød, created a project Aima, that's promoting dark industrial techno sound then In 2015 Andrey created the project Ekstendia, that focused on deep dub sound and which today is the main genre.

WeedAqtivism Podcasts Session #20 Guestmix Rolled By Ekstendia[Murmansk,Russia].

German composer Lars Leonhard was born close to Düsseldorf in the early seventies and it didn’t take him long to realise he was truly passionate by music. He first experimented with industrial and easy listening, set up a punk-rock band called “Chaos Digital” and went on to compose soundtracks for documentaries and TV jingles.
His strong liking for electronic music led him to explore the realms of ambient, dub-techno and deep-house and in 2010 he signed with BineMusic on which he released two full albums 1549 and Seasons – Les Quatre Saisons, a 12″ vinyl EP called No Comment and featured on one their compilations. Followed a vinyl release on DimbiDeep and several collaborations.
The American Space Agency NASA spotted Lars in 2013 on Youtube and is currently illustrating its scientific explorations videos with his compositions.

FEEDTHELIZARD

Feedthelizard is Benny Mcgrigors second project inspired by the years he has spent living on tropical islands in Thailand including Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. His musical style over this time has been delicately forged to energise ravers in paradise by taking them on deep, euphoric, groovy and sexy journeys adapted to fit day partys, sunset sessions on a beach to the underground vibes of a club.

As Feed the Lizard, Benny plays a wide range of styles from House, Disco, Funk to Deeptech, Deephouse, Minimal and House Music to keep the vibe right for the situation. Moreover, his knowledge gained through years of DJing and producing has allowed him to showcase his sound at festivals and events worldwide alongside managing weekly beach partys, running a DJ school, and underground music venue (The Studio Koh Tao) all in Thailand.

Benny’s first underground musical project, XENOSCAPES is a experimental form of Minimal Techno with a unique Dark, atmospheric yet Sexy and groovy vibe. As XENOSCAPES Benny has released numerous tracks of his own on labels from all over Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia all available on Beatport.
