live @ Exit Festival 2007 (FULL TWO HOUR SHOW)

For techno in Amsterdam, few do it better than Sandrien. The Dutch native has been collecting records in her hometown for the best part of two decades, and became a staple of the city’s underground scene through MAD2 – the club night she ran with friend Carlos Valdes. Building on the success of MAD2 she went onto establish Imprint – the night she’s best known for – which she ran at the much-loved Trouw club up until its closure at the beginning of 2015. In the years since she’s been playing out increasingly beyond the Dutch capital, with 2017 seeing her tour Asia and stop off in Berlin for regular appearances. This rise in popularity is a real testament to her prowess as a selector.

On 14th October she makes her Farringdon debut, so we didn’t hesitate in inviting her to record a mix for us to introduce herself. For her mix, she dropped a carefully-curated selection of ambient, IDM, broken beats and techno, before discussing her record digging habits and the scene in her hometown.

Since starting his career way back in 2004 Alex Kreimer is on an epic journey through various genres and festivals. The most recent stop on his quest for enormous power of happiness and joy only music can offer is this Burnerduke single.

The original starts way from the deep and then hypnotically builds itself into a grooving masterclass that leaves no stones unturned and showcases the best virtues of dance music. Introduction of lush melodies and juicy textures puts a cherry on top of this cake.

Also this time Alex doesn't travel alone and has Mariano Santos and Erik Polder for company. Mariano's take on Burnerduke is has more of an industrial hint to it, but the added roughness serves the purpose of delivering a full dancefloor experience your body will thank you for. Sharp drum sounds drowned in groovy bassline arpeggio with a little pad goodness on top — all the ingredients you need to loose yourself in this remix.

To complete the single Erik Polder takes his remix to a land of electro flavored trance. With intense strict bassline and a lead synths to envy your body is simply unable to stop moving to this classic beat. Elegant in its simplicity this work expands the genre reach of this release even further.

All in all, a very diverse, but balanced single that has will turn heads on every dancefloor.

Having released the acclaimed Be Mine on Crosstown Rebels in 2017, Berlin-based Siopis lands on Rebellion with Unconditional, a poignant two-tracker that features the vocals of esteemed DnB lyricist, MC Coppa.

“An interview with Lauryn Hill inspired me to make this release. It blew me away and I felt it straight in my heart, so I wanted to share the deep message that comes from it. I put her vocals into the break of the lead track, and Unconditional was born.” Siopis.

Beginning with the ethereal sounds of Unconditional, the lead track is a journey into electronic music’s spiritual realm, as supple keys vibrate alongside a gently moving bassline. A sample from Lauryn Hill’s iconic speech acts as the breakdown, before the emotive bassline comes back in to pull deeply on our heartstrings. Kaleidoscope feat. MC Coppa completes the release. Bubbling with subtle hats and dreamy pads, the moving cut takes on a tougher edge with MC Coppa’s stirring monologue, whilst Siopis’ flagship club-ready sound features right the way through to form a track that sounds perfect at home, and on the dancefloor.

A prolific producer, Siopis has been carving out a career in electronic music for more than a decade. Previously known under his Silversurfer moniker, he is responsible for some of Crosstown Rebels’ earliest releases, producing 2004’s Parisis and collaborating with Kiki on the seminal Shake Off that same year. Fast-forward to more recent times where continued releases on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels and M.A.N.D.Y’s Get Physical Music have helped define his emotional, dance-oriented sound, whilst frequent performances at clubbing institutions such as Hoppetosse and Golden Gate have established him as a regular on the Berlin circuit. With international sets under his belt at the likes of Miami’s Ocean’s Ten and Mexico’s Americana Club Social, the future continues to shine bright for Siopis.

Mariano Mellino Pres. Audioholics Episode 58

For our 57th episode, we're excited to share with you all this beautiful progressive mix, curated by rising talent, Julián Nates.  He was introduced to the music world at the age of 4, when he started taking regular violin and piano classes until his adolescence years. This is when he decided to start with drums lessons, in which he got to reach a professional formation at a prestigious music conservatory in Córdoba. 

At the age of 23, he started to develop a deep interest in electronic music. This led him to take several courses until he was fully trained as a DJ and producer. His musical style fluctuates between deep house and progressive house, with a very permanent feature of percussive and drum sounds. Julián has introduced his tracks in labels such as Nick Warren's label The Soundgarden, Onedotsixtwo, Particles, Or Two Strangers, Clubsonica, Balkan Connection, and more.

Born in Havana, Cuba in 1994, Dhany has his first encounter with music at an early age when he receives as a gift, from his grandfather, a guitar. His fascination with electronic music came later with the growing house scene in his locality, but it wasn't until the age of 17 that he begins to take the music seriously when he obtains his first residence in the club La Casona de Miramar. 
His style and energy in his sets made him quickly win the public’s acceptance and the interest of promoters, taking to his second residence in the prestigious event center of the capital Salon Rosado de La Tropical. In 2013, he joined the line-up of the Proelectronica festival held in Havana, until its last edition in 2016. In the subsequent years he continues his performances in different parties in the city and in 2019 becomes part of the EYEIFE festival line up in Cuba, in addition to achieving his first international gigs in Panama, one at the Nature party and another in the Coyotaco club. Also, this 2020 he was recently invited to the important Burning Man festival in its virtual edition where he participates with an streaming performance at the Namaste and Chill camp.
His productions show an atmospheric style, full of melodies as an intense groove, which have led him to publish his works on labels such as ICONYC, Freegrant Music, Balkan Connection and Balkan Connection South America, One Of A Kind, Soundteller Records, Superordinate Music, Clinique Recordings, Soul Art Recordings, Bevel Rec, SLC-6 Music among others.
Since the end of 2018 his tracks have reached top positions in Release Promo Hype Chart and in 2019 his debut reaches the top 100 tracks of Beatport progressive house with his single “Jade” in collaboration with Leo Pérez, edited under Balkan Connection Records, reaching position # 63. He also reaches # 69 in the top 100 releases of progressive house of Beatport with his EP "Sun 24", also published under Balkan Connection and this 2020 acquired top # 23 with his track "Momo" in the top 100 tracks of Beatport progressive house, released in Freegrant Music.
For his unquestionable quality in his productions, Dhany G has already gain the support of artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Richie Hawtin, Kamilo Sanclemente, Dmitry Molosh, Graziano Raffa, Nicolas Rada, DJ Paul (ARG), Julian Nates, Tim Penner, Nishan Lee, Sebastian Bustos, Lucas Rossi and many more.
