For a long time, I’ve wanted to compose a piece like this. Nostalgia and memory are very important themes for me as a composer, and so writing ‘childhood’ was a piece I felt I needed to write. The type of piano I’ve used for this piece is different than the one I normally use, it’s a bit smaller, more intimate, upright sound. To make you remember warm spring days spent outside with your family, grandparents, and childhood friends.
