"Hay una ley que dice que está estrictamente prohibido alterar la letra o música del himno nacional mexicano, así como ejecutarlo total o parcialmente en composiciones o arreglos.
En este track intenté jugar un poco con esto, usando algunas palabras del himno (retiemble, sepulcro,...) y mezclándolas con referencias al caso de la madre que le sacó los ojos a su hijo en un ritual, para que no viera al diablo en lo que creía era el fin del mundo. En la música use un sample muy corto de los metales del himno nacional para la clásica pausa-corte de una pista de hip-hop."

I've invited my close friend Saint-Maurice (Maurice Hermes), better known under his production alias Neugeborene Nachtmusik and a host of Glory Berlin Clubnight & Podcast mix series. We started a label together called Ordo Viatorum and shared a split LP as the first release a few years back (check this out here: https://www.discogs.com/label/999986-Ordo-Viatorum). This rider on the storm created a daring mix which includes lots of my personally favorite artists, including a beginning and ending of tracks by Neugeborene Nachtmusik. The river was the only route out of the city. It stretched for miles and miles, ebbing and flowing with the breeze that carried it along. Dark green leaves and sprawling branches formed a canopy over the water, protecting this natural place from prying eyes. It felt peaceful, a place for escaping the stresses of city life. In fact, this river held many secrets, stories that would make your hair stand on end. Its beauty was simply a facade...

Next up on XXX, the Dutch label run by DJ and producr SHMLSS, is good friend and Bordello A Parigi alumni Stijn Sadée. After two contributions to earlier releases for the label, he's now set to release his first original EP on the label, which features a remix from Smala boss Manfredas that they locked in after the Lithuanian producer saw Stijn play live last year. The aesthetics of the label are down to Stijn's brother Thomas who worked closely with him to create something that fitted with the music and his influences.
