Having released two EPs the previous year, max.sugar kicks off 2015 with a brand new single on XLNT Records entitled ‘Late Night Wizards’. The original mix seems to have been inspired by the rhythms of French streets filled with high heels and mopeds. Despite being difficult to categorize or close it in only one genre, it tends to lean toward a club take on max.sugar’s music.
The original tune is supported with a couple of remixes, the first of which comes from Snipz; equipped with pumping UK bassline and spacey pads, it closely echoes the early works of a British duo Orbital. Whereas the other one, the courtesy of TVB, is a classic deep house music tune filled with lovely old school compression.
Although it is only a single, the whole release sounds quite addictive.

XLNT 007 - max.sugar - Late Night Wizards (preview)

Ane returns in 2015 with her new EP on XLNT Records.
‘Follow The Nature’ has its beginnings in spring, when the world comes to life. The opening track ‘Atelopus’ is characterized by deep bassline, tech-house beat and spatial instrumental sounds, thanks to which the whole composition gains an almost hypnotic charm. The title reflects Ane’s association of a brightly coloured species of small toads with the track’s sort of acidic structure.

‘Atelopus’ is followed by two remixes: Dani presents his own vision taking us to a Dub Techno dimension, whereas max.sugar breaks all conventions and styles in his very personal look at Ane’s artistic expression.

The final supplement of the release is a collaborative track by Ane and max.sugar. Raw, dirty, almost industrial sound, enhanced with the reverbs of birds and unrecognizable female vocals make it almost impossible to match this tune to any genre. We leave it for you to assess.

XLNT 008 - Ane - Follow The Nature (preview)

Looking for a slick blend of Funk and House? We are happy to announce that you have just found it. The latest release on XLNT Records – ‘Take A Break’ by Mateo Paz feat. Meg – is a fresh and groove filled mixture that will certainly set quite a few dancefloors on fire.
Being a DJ for over 16 years and having played alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, including Carl Cox and Armin van Buuren, Mateo Paz turned to music production a few years ago and collaborated with a young and passionate vocalist Meg.
Although ‘Take A Break’ was recorded a couple of years ago and ceaselessly played on various radio stations, the track has never been published… Until now.
Both original and instrumental versions of the track are supplemented with two versions of a remix by David Sonido, taking us into the world of sounds of Nu Disco.
The force of Mateo Paz and Meg has just been awakened, and this may just be a prologue to a longer adventure of the duo. Will it happen? We leave it for you to decide.

XLNT 009 - Mateo Paz Feat. Meg - Take A Break (preview)

A brand new single from BMD – ‘Funk It Up’ – is a funk filled Big Beat tune that should satisfy the tastes of all those who miss the sounds of the old school breaks of the 90’s. Punchy beats, funky basslines and spoken vocals all compile nicely to create a solid tune that will certainly make you want to move.

The original mix is supported by a Deep House remix from another XLNT Records family artist – Ane, who adds quite a few pads and percussive elements, but carries on the notion of the 90’s with a characteristic sound of synth bass. 

The release would not be complete without two more remixes from Nu-Funk scene artists. DJ Clairvo delivers a funk driven laid-back grooves remix with an oriental edge to it. Whereas Rory Hoy comes up with another Big Beat banger with a funked-up twist on his remix. A great way to get the party started!


XLNT 010 - BMD - Funk It Up (preview)

The mysterious identity of Black Howler goes hand in hand with his exceptional production skills. All that can be said is that he is a creature with a particular interest in the heavier side of bass. Having the vibe and energy that most good music lovers will appreciate, ‘Square Time’ takes us on a funky trip to areas commonly associated with Glitch Hop music. 

Expanding the genre to the full and making his remix even funkier than the original mix, D.End blends future sounding and oldchool synths, organic samples and heavy bass action together in a dynamic and groovy style. 

A young Hungarian producer, Fourth, takes the original to the Dubstep dimension with some spacious synth breakdowns to let us enjoy the ride in the full. Finally, inspired by the 80’s disco and boogie, Bulgarian artist Slugware creates a Breakbeat remix that nicely rounds up the whole release. 



XLNT 011 - Black Howler - Square Time (preview)

Snipz are fragments, bits and pieces cut out from different styles, sounds and inspirations. The result of this artistic process is ‘Pride’. The release, consisting of the original track and its four remixes, somehow reflects the whole catalogue of XLNT Records up to date: an eclectic mixture of various genres.
In contrast to the simplicity of a Broken Beat remix by BMD stands the multitude of sounds layered over a downtempo beat in max.sugar’s interpretation. 
Land of Lakes delivers a bass driven Downtempo remix with a twist of a double-time broken beat syncopation, whereas Mateo Paz creates a House remix, probably the best pick for the dancefloor from the pack. 
And what about the title track ‘Pride’? We leave it for you to listen and decide. 


XLNT 012 - Snipz - Pride (preview)

Sopot, once dubbed ‘the clubbing capital city of Poland’, is definitely one of the places in the country, where a night spent is a night to remember. ‘Sopot at Night’ is the first ever release on XLNT Records of Tuxedo, one of the most talented Polish producers of the young generation. A resident DJ at Proton and Frisky Radio, with releases on some of the biggest Progressive House imprints in the world, he always searches for melodies, harmonies and drifting emotions that can affect the listeners, control the mood and touch their souls. And that is what the 10-minute long original track is about.

Aitra and David Sonido continue the journey into House in their remixes. The former expands the progressive side of sounds, whereas the latter makes an effort to appeal to a wider audience through elevating the synths and adding some vocals.

The last two remixes on the release are quite different. While Marboc delivers a Chill Out interpretation with an outer space depth, max.sugar slows the things down and, with crackling sounds of a vinyl record, takes us on a journey into the world of Downtempo Electronica. 

It is up to you to decide which of the tracks you will choose to enjoy ‘Sopot at Night’.



XLNT 013 - Tuxedo - Sopot At Night (preview)

This time only a few solo tracks from max.sugar to brighten your autumn days. A bit moody, starts with an electronica-infused guitar tune with guest appearance from Mikołaj Tchorzewski. All of you who secretly sing to RHCP tunes on the radio will like the sliding riffs in this piece. 
Guitar elements remain throughout the rest of this short EP, sampled from an old, out-of-tune acoustic guitar max keeps in his basement. Hands Off, his favourite one on this release, is a sweet-bitter tune, reflecting on sharing (or not sharing) things and the impact of this on today’s society. 
The Journey Continues is clearly all about travelling to places. Often not the destination, but the journey itself is important. Street Corner closes the list, being most urban of all, describing a hot summer day in a city.

Mood EP

XLNT 014 - max.sugar - Mood EP (preview)

Inspired by the vintage sounds of the British label Ninja Tune, Wroclaw based Polish producer TVB delivers ‘Missing Channel’, a Downtempo EP, which opens 2017 on XLNT Records. The title song, including a guest performance from a session musician Kamil Wolkowski, is filled with the warm sound of drums and a hint of scratching. This is followed by a duo of remixes. 
Kapelmistrz (also known as Green Jesus) brings along a rather psychedelic combination of forest, mushrooms and synthesizers to the mix, whilst Cez14 comforts the ears with bass-filled soft warmth in a Dub interpretation of the ‘Missing Channel’. The whole EP, which closes with ‘Nightcrawler’, a tune inspired by a 2014 American film of the same title, seems to be a perfect match for a car ride around the city, preferably at night….

Missing Channel

XLNT 015 - TVB - Missing Channel (preview)

If you google BMD, the chances are you are not going to get anywhere near the Polish DJ and music producer. But if you add the letters XLNT, you are pretty sure to find one of the most prolific and recognised Nu Funk artists from Poland. And this one here is his new EP. 
‘Nickelodeon’ is a funky blend tune of new and old; broken beats, wobbling bass and that-70’s guitars. Having recently had an EP released on Ghetto Funk, D.End in his remix could not have delivered anything short of what anybody would expect of him, so you are surely to find all that dirty goodness there. The other remix is by one and only Rory Hoy, an unquestionable ambassador of all Big Beat sounds in the 21st century. 
The EP closes with a mellow, vintage sounding Funk tune with smooth Hammond rhodes, which does not seem to fit here, and yet, it does complete this EP.

XLNT Crew has always consisted of DJs, music producers, party promoters, graphics artists and, above all, people who love good music - representing a great variety of styles and genres.
