Bio:

Segue is Jordan Sauer from Vancouver, Canada. He makes electronic music on his computer, everything from ambient and drone to dub and techno. With a keen attention to the sounds chosen in each composition, the music is built up of layers of tones and textures using recordings of acoustic instruments and everyday events. He has released several solo albums and collaborated with a variety of artists, some of which are available on record labels. Scuba's Phenix triptych reveals its final panel. A bite-size story in and of itself, and a fitting end-part to the greater sum, 3 feels like the latest acme of a diverse career.

This is traditional beginning-middle-end story-telling: ‘Silence’'s call-and-response foretells of a blue funk ahead - funk in the figurative - as ‘Nineteen Eighty’ transposes old Chicago into an ad rem context. The disquiet continues on the other side, with ‘Plateau’'s exacting techno pulse underscoring astral synth work. Tempo and temperature are pushed to an extent worthy of the resolution ‘Fade’ provides with its informal pace, acoustic disposition and celestial chimes.

I had a modern classical/electronica mix from a friend (JamBon) which I had been listening to a lot, and after a weekend away the original of this track was really stuck in my head. At some point I clicked that it sounded just like the style of another friend - Hiatus, and on checking, it was him! So I got straight on email to him asking if I could have the parts, and I even got started on the remix before they arrived by buying the mp3 and starting to lay some ideas around that - When it's on I find it's best to go with it. It was a really enjoyable remix to do given how beautiful the original parts are, my mix is quite similar really, as I couldn't improve on it melodically, I've just tried to add some of my own flavour and twists.

This is the A2 track from my new vinyl on Traum Schallpatten - It's a restrained melodic track which I tried to keep pure to it's concept, which was when I was sitting in my studio in Autumn, looking out the windows at the trees and nature which was clouded in mist. It had a really nice atmosphere which I tried to capture.
