A follow up to the original Forest Of The Dancing Spirits mix recorded in 2013. A mix inspired during hiking in the forest during heavy rain storms. The sound of the wind howling through the trees while wandering invoked a presence of the dancing spirits. A mix to move your mind, body and spirit.

“Some for Bohannon,” a celebration and glance at the funky creations of Hamilton Bohannon: a drummer, song writer, and record producer who perfected a "formula of heavy, thudding bass accents and aggressive rhythms". He passed away April 24, 2020. Rest in peace.

His music taught me as a young DJ that disco most certainly does not suck. Here is just a small sample of the dozens and dozens of infectious grooves and dance-floor igniters created by Bohannon.

Los Angeles record collector, Sweaterfunk alumni, and host of "The Honey Pot" on Dublab radio, Mamabear is a Pleasure of Love favorite.  We're happy to have her on our second edition of NEW ISLANDS.  Check out what she had to say about making the mix-

"Guided by my penchant for escapism, I chose to let the songs on this mix air out and fully breathe. No need for quick mixes when you’re on a New Island. Kicking off the mix with the elusive and mysterious duo Rare Times, I chose the Coolwater Mix of their track “No Ones Looking Out” for its dubby goodness then lead into “Summer body” by Manuel Darquart which has a magnetic bassline, surrounded by lush synthesizers and catchy backing vocals. I had to include Mexico City sweethearts Shiro Schwarz with their track “Burnin’ Inside” which is a fiery groove, then cool it off with some creole soul by David Walters and his latest cut “Kryé Mwen (Patchworks Remix)”. Finishing the mix is the ethereal keypella of “Dreamin’ of you” by Social Lovers, sending you off into a sun-kissed, definitive trip."
