School buses aren’t the usual catalysts for great musical achievements, but this was where Arndt
Roerig and Marko Vidovic – now known around the globe as Tube & Berger – first started their musical journey. Now 15 or so years later they are two of the most seasoned house producers and in-demand remixers around, with an acclaimed studio album, releases on an array of prestigious labels and gigs at the world’s finest venues to their name.

Tube & Berger will continue doing what they do best; creating thoughtful, considered house music that pulls just as incessantly at the heart as it does the feet. And with the quality and consistency they’ve shown to date, there’s no limit to what they might achieve.

Now, the duo returns to Suara with two new tracks. Today's exclusive premiere is 'Disarray,' which could be considered as the follow up of their great debut: emotional melodic deep house wrapping up Judges brilliant vocals.

Pets Recordings hit their 59th release, handing the reigns to rising star Adam Port who presents a fresh update on '80s synthtronica, mixed with a smattering of gradual peak-time, bottom-heavy house structure.

'This Time' is the product of a new and fruitful relationship between Adam and vocalist Jennifer Touch, who grabbed Port's attention with her stand out vocals on the Nightstalker EP on Riotvan. The pair connected and began meeting for off the cuff, un-planned sessions at the Keinemusik studio in Stattbad, with Port bringing his knowledge of the dance-floor, Touch her 80’s'esque new wave sound and influences. "It's a very good flow with her” says Adam. “We're speaking the same music language even when we have a different background".

Boys Noize & Erol Alkan ‘Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)’ features vocals by Jarvis Cocker, out now on Phantasy

Once again, Erol Alkan and Boys Noize have teamed up, for what has become a stunning re-imagining of last years smash single ‘Avalanche’.. Determined to avoid a taking an obvious route, the pair originally intended to commission a spoken word interpretation- the natural choice was the mellifluous Jarvis Cocker.

Throwing his creative muscle behind the project, it was Jarvis’s inspired choice for him to recite the seminal lyrics of Leonard Cohen’s song of the same name… A handwritten letter and CDR were dispatched to Mr Cohen, who very quickly gave his full and delighted support to the project.

All that was left was for Jarvis to add his distinctive twist to the title, in the form of ‘Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)’ despite this unlikely paring of minds the finished work sees the sonorous tones of Mr Cocker riding the megalithic slabs of fizzing synthesis and piston-ing drums with aplomb to mesmeric effect.

On the remix tip the duo enlist the true underground maestro himself Ewan Pearson, who supplies not one, but two different flavours of rerub – the ‘Hall Of The Mountain King Remix’ mix takes the original on a warped acid redux via Chicago, while the ‘Deeper Underground Re-Version’ reroutes proceedings to dubbed out Berlin basement after hours to stunning effect. Not to be out done, hot new talent Canblaster interprets the original as a low-slung bleeptastic old-school electro workout, recalling the early works of Warp, that rounds the package off in glorious style.

Noir is re-launching his label NM2 after 18 months of absence with a great portfolio of artists and the principal release being his very own. Thus we are very happy to share the premiere of “Lumière Brillante”, one of the two tracks of the newest Noir’s EP in our premiere series.

Lumières, not only being the monumental first release on the re-launch of NM2, is one of the first tracks Noir produced back in April, since his successful self titled debut artist album released this year’s March 2015. Aside being responsible for 2011’s track ‘Around’, which with it's with its recurring tune around “What goes around will come around and come back and get you” and a remix by Solomun has absolutely conquered the dance floors, René ‘Noir’ Kristensen has an evident talent in running music labels.

NM2 is one of the two sub labels (together with Klimaks Record) under the critically acclaimed pioneering label Noir Music, which is currently the eighth ‘most charted’ label of all time (!) on Resident Advisor. It’s portfolio currently consists of stylistically diverse range of artists, still bounded by an ability to deliver quality house music, from Hot Since 82, Huxley, Oliver Giacomotto, Finnebassen, Deetron, Larse, Kevin Over, Coyu, Oxia and the label boss himself. Asked, what to expect for the future plans of the label, Noir was modestly brief, commenting that the music will speak for itself.

What is so charming, about this modest Dane is his philosophy of resisting the business thinking.“I don’t have a strategy,” he insists. “I just have a passion for sharing the music that I love.”

Ponty Mython - Still Afraid Of Bats [Monologues Records]

A metal dance deconstruction of a Prince classic, recorded in 1987.

Adrian’s mid-80s productions with the Tackhead axis were some of the most innovative of the period in their sheer sonic extremity - creating huge walls of sound with skull-crushing beats, a Dadaist collage of vocal samples, and instruments pushed way into the red. Distortion became another colour in his sonic palette, just as echo, reverb and parametric EQ had been to his dub productions. These records caught the ears of musicians from the emerging second wave industrial scene - an international affair taking inspiration from earlier groups like Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire but applying it to tracks intended for a dancefloor or rock club. The hybrid would be dubbed ‘electronic body music’, and Sherwood very much had a hand in shaping the sound, being invited to work with the likes of Einstürzende Neubauten, Ministry, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb and Nine Inch Nails.

Pankow were from Florence, Italy and Adrian made their acquaintance after producing fellow hometown act Rinf (also featured on this comp). Pankow's early synth and drum machine excursions such as “Das Vodkalied” have become a seminal touchstone for modern techno producers such as Helena Hauff in recent years, with their heavier late-80s productions with Adrian Sherwood being championed as metal dance classics by On-U compiler Trevor Jackson. They also ended up having their records released in the states by Wax Trax!, and worked on two albums with Adrian, Freiheit Für Die Sklaven(Freedom For The Slaves) and Gisela. This irreverent deconstruction of a Prince song is a highlight of their time working together and appeared in extended form on the humorously titled EP, Pankow Play The Hits Of The Nineties.

"Yo, how are u all? DJ Seinfeld here. Glad you’re looking at my first record ever! It’s a bit strange innit tho? You’re probably in some record shop somewhere, looking all smart and wondering whether this record is anything special. Well it is. The story of them is that I made all of these in one day, somewhere around early spring this year when my first love left me. These tracks were pressed and then the original files were destroyed, and like my relationship I had to move on, even though it’s hard u know? I still don’t know how, but I’m trying. All I do know is that I want to live life as uncompromisingly as Kramer does, the way he throws himself without fear into the next adventure. This EP marks the first out of a limited collection dedicated to all those who felt this heartbreak at some point in their life, or who are about to. It’s hard but I’m here if you need to talk.
