It’s safe to say that Resolute is to New York what Secretsundaze and Half Baked are to London, Sash! is to Sydney and the likes of Sunrise are to Romania. In onther words, it’s a party that’s very much at the heart of its country’s electronic music scene. And at the heart of any great party is its residents. Maksim (real name Maxim) is a Russian DJ/producer who’s been a key part of the Resolute party and a resident since 2013. 

Known for his groovy and infectious sets (that clearly, reflect his playful nature), he found music in his teenage years and is truly someone who’s worked his way up: he even worked as a lighting guy before turning his hand to DJing. It was in Brooklyn where he’s found his calling, impressing the Resolute crew and securing a residency that would lead him on a whole new lifepath. As we’re such fans, we decided to invite the man himself back for another mix. And this one's another cracker!

Silverlining, aka Asad Rizvi,accidentally fell into DJing in 1993, when he was invited to host an experimental techno show on a London pirate radio station, being the only person they know with any records of that ilk. When he first committed his early studio productionsto vinyl in 1995, he only expected it to be a short-lived stint of fun. The intentionwas to have a go at makingsome records that smelted the shuffle-heavy grooves of US house, the abstract energy of Detroit and deep techno, using the mixing desk as an instrument in the way that the early dub technicians did in Jamaica. Before long, he was invited to play his first gigs from Brixton to Berlin to Buenos Aires.Two decades on, the man-hours he has put into the studio and decks can                       be heard at every instance. With over 150 titles under different names, old titles recently have been fetching up to £75 on Discogs. In response he has decided to launch his Silverlining Dubs imprint to make the music accessible to ordinary vinyl buyers. The label has addressed the demand, whilst re-contextualising the sought-after back catalogue with fresh tracks, re-edits, and lesser-known gems. All titles have hitthe top 10 genre vinyl charts on Juno, with onenumber one.After several years of using other names, he has reinvented the Silverlining guise with the benefit of an extra 20 yearsexperience.All the while, his sophisticated, party-savvy DJ sets have been tickling feet and minds alike in over 40 countries, in hundreds of venues over from warehouses to main stages at festivals, often with repeat bookings that are too numerous to count. Audio Werner introduces us to his slick minimal sound in the latest vinyl-only GH Podcast. Lucky us, since for the next two hours we’ll get teleported on the wooden dancefloor of Club der Visionaere, at the traditional Tune In residency monthly party on May 17th 2017 - that’s 3 years back in time. 

Andreas - the man behind Audio Werner project - did a technical processing to elevate the sound quality, while also adding some small touches - a sign of a selector dedicated to acquiring the level of quality expected. The podcast is rather abstract than housy and it makes up some reference to his roots linked to Perlon, which has also inspired and influenced a lot of Romanian producers along the way.
Judging by the meandering yet crowd-pleasing bassline, GH013 is a builder rather than an attention-grabber, a deep effort that’s sure to receive plenty of play from fans of groovier minimised sounds.

Zip is co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. He has an illustrious musical history which began in 1986 as singer in the band Second Voice. In 1992 he moved to Frankfurt and joined the EBM band Bigod 20. After several releases the band split. In 1996 he got together with Markus Nikolai and Chris Rehberger to form the audio-visual project Pile. In 1997 he and Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee) and Narcotic Syntax (with James Dean Brown). In 1999 the SuPERLONgevity compilation was released, featuring 'Bushes', a track that has since garnered chart-topping remixes from the likes of Derrick Carter and Fatboy Slim.

Zip also recorded with Peter "Baby" Ford and has appeared on Ford's label PAL SL. He is a regular guest DJ in clubs around the world and holds residencies at Robert Johnson (Offenbach) and the Panorama Bar (Berlin). He participates in the Narod Niki project, occasional collective laptop live jams initiated by Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. He has released tracks and remixes on Perlon, Playhouse, Force Inc, Novamute and others.
