We are excited to share with you the latest perception of Far Blue from an artist who we truly admire. Martinou has built a distinct sound, blending deep, atmospheric textures with intricate rhythms to form a soundscape that is both immersive and emotionally evocative. After having Martinou to play a closing set at Borisov for our Far Blue x Pintai event earlier this year, we could only look forward to the next time we would be able to share his music with you. An artist who truly pushes the boundaries with the tracks he produces and the mixes he puts together. 'ecotone' captures his essence of Far Blue, crafted entirely from his own creations.

"an ecotone is an area where two biological biomes meet and blend into each other. one biome may extend further into the other at one point and the lines can easily blur; where does one biome end and the other start? this is a recording of what i’ve come to uncover from my mind and record whilst in my innermost haven. like the ecotone, the music is always flowing, ever changing."

Casa Department EP Biography

"Casa Department" is a 2-track Afro house EP that encapsulates a vibrant blend of deep, rhythmic grooves and soulful melodies. The EP is heavily influenced by the pioneering sounds of Bunxapa, Shimza, and &ME, while also drawing inspiration from the raw energy and local flavor of South African artists like Skelm, Celso Fabri, and Casis.

The EP features two distinct yet complementary tracks:

"Motivate Klubb": A high-energy, dancefloor-focused anthem with driving percussion, pulsating basslines, and uplifting melodic synths.

"Casa Department": A deeper, more introspective journey with intricate rhythms, hypnotic soundscapes, and soulful vocals.

"Casa Department" EP is a testament to the power of collaboration and the unifying spirit of Afro house music.

German record label Giegling was born out of a mutual passion of music from a collective of friends and producers who originally set out to arrange parties in an abandoned building in Weimar for their friends. After their venue was demolished in 2008, the collective continued to make use of the Giegling brand they had formed and opened up their own vinyl only label focusing on the deeper realms of house and techno.

This mix was recorded by Ateq, a member of the Giegling collective, who will also release the labels 13th record, which features in this mix. Florian's mix is aimed to represent his personal perspective of the overall Giegling sound. In the interview we discuss the origins of Giegling and the people behind the label. We also discuss Giegling's relationship with Kann Records and the labels approach to hand crafting original artwork for their releases.
