Dark Energy Promo Mix

Bristol's breakbeat stalwarts Monk3ylogic return to Broken Robot with a double whammy of hard hitters.&#13; ROBOT ARMS is Monk3ylogic's peak-time sound at its very best. A driving bassline is hammered home by relentless drums, whilst twisted, acidic leads squark overhead.&#13; CONTACT is a darker, broodier affair. A mysterious voice informs us that "we have alien contact", whilst a grimey, sustaining bassline grinds away underneath otherworldly synths.&#13; Both tracks will be available from all of the usual outlet from the 15th October 2014.

Here we go with a our landmark 50th release and to celebrate this, we come full circle with Monk3ylogic who gave us our 1st release for the label back in 2010
The Monk3y boys have launched 'Hit the Limit' at us now, which is a multi-layered Tech-Funk monster , dripping with reverb and percussive grooves.
Their unique style has constantly had floors melting and speakers throbbing to these epic leads and kicks over these last few years!!

A newcomer to the label is Aytch from Norway, AKA Håkon Smith he has been pushing his multigenre sound on Wonk#ay Records for quite some time now, and here he presents a Neurofunk remix of 'Hit the Limit' , super tight production and groove , he will be one to keep your eye on in the future.

All I can say about this one is it's a heads-down hands-up chugger of a choon. It's got a low slung groove with a high frequency vibration - a huge tune with a top drop and a shakedown in the breakdown. It does take prisoners but it lets them off the chain, and it’ll tear your roof off and build you a new one.

As featured on my Summer 2012 promomix, this remix of Perfect Stranger's 'Slope' has been a regular feature in my  DJ set's for well over a year now, often as an intro track. It's a much more minimal affair than my other stuff, I tried to stay focused on the groove and the main lead line, while breaking it up with a few sick edits.
