Nascida a 21 de Setembro de 1986, Lindsey Stirling é uma violinista, dançarina, cantora e compositora. Em 2010 participou na quinta temporada do programa 'A America Tem Talento' (America's Got Talent).
Com apenas 5 anos pediu ao pai para aprender a tocar violino, influenciada em grande parte pela musica clássica que este ouvia. Teve assim aulas privadas durante 12 anos em musica clássica e aos 16 participou numa banda de música rock constituída por 4 amigos chamada 'Stomp on Melvin'.
O Cinematografo Devin Graham, após a participação de Lindsey no concurso 'America's Got Talent' no ano de 2010, contactou-a via Facebook com a esperança de poder realizar vídeos com a artista. Alguns meses mais tarde Lindsey entrou em contacto com ele de forma a gravar o seu novo video para a musica "Spontaneous Me". [6] O Video ajudou imenso para o aumento de popularidade de Lindsey.

Tôg - "Maridalen"

Stavangerbandet Tog dro til Maridalen og ble discofrelst! Lars Christian Olsen og resten av gjengen er tilbake med en fantastisk ny discosingle.
Jeg vet ikke om så mange andre band som klarer å flette deep-house og space disco med en svevende refleksjon om alminnelig middelklasseproblematikk på en kulere måte enn Tôg. Det kristne stavangerbandet, som ble kjent for pop-låter som Sansen og Reint Mel (i påsen din), ledet av Lars Christian Olsen, har hevet sin kollektive glorie til nye kosmiske høyder og leverer et drømmende stykke moderne dansemusikk på sin nye singel, "Maridalen". Låta er smakebit nummer to fra det kommende albumet "Feiring", som slippes 31. januar 2013. 

Nevnte  jeg at dette er space disco..? På stavangerdialekt? Nå vet du i hvert fall det. Og det låter fett! Tôgs nye singel blir introdusert av elektroniske hi-hats og en eksotisk congabeat før det svevende synthtemaet introduseres. Beaten piskes igang, og med sin hvileløse puls kjenner man hvordan dansegulvets forlokkende kraft suger en til seg. Lars Christians eteriske falsettvokal smyger seg inn og gjør den ellers flyktige klubbopplevelsen paradoksalt nok litt mer jordnær. 

Det er vanskelig å sette fingeren på nøyaktig hva som gjør låta så bra. Kanskje det er alliansen mellom drømmende, melodiøs disco og androgyn stavangerdialekt som gjør det hele så attraktivt..? Låta er subtil, men samtidig insisterende. Det skal liksom ikke fungere. Men det fenger som bare det. 

"Maridalen" er mikset av discohodet Eric Broucek, kjent fra DFA Records, og for sitt tette arbeid med internasjonale storheter som LCD Soundsystem, Hercules And Love Affair og Classixx. Produksjonen er et samarbeid mellom Lars Christian Olsen og Ådne Meisfjord, som de aller fleste vil kjenne igjen som hjernen bak det spellemannsvinnende technorock-bandet 120 Days, og nå også Serena-Maneesh, sammen med Emil Nikolaisen. 

Historien bak Maridalen
Men hva skjer med at låten er oppkalt etter det kjente, frodige dalføret i utkanten av Oslo by? Jeg spurte Lars Christian og fikk svar:
 – Jeg hadde en helt legendarisk kveld med noen venner et par år siden. Vi kjørte ut til et jorde i Maridalen en fredagskveld. Vi ville gjøre noe annerledes enn det man pleier i helger i Oslo. Vi satte på bilstereoen og etterhvert oppsto det spontant til at vi begynte å danse. Der ute i mørket. Det var en vinterkveld og masse rim på noen jorder som lå i brakk som vi danset på. Det ble liksom stående som en helt spesiell kveld som vi alle alltid vil huske. Jeg syntes også det var et kult narrativ, selv om det blir noe vagt i låten. Låten er jo mer rettet mot spørsmålet hva gjør vi i livet, med våre ønsker og lengsler, med flukten vår.

"Maridalen" er en eksellent forening mellom det guddommelige, det menneskelige og det maskinelle. Et fruktbart samarbeid mellom to unge menn med svært forskjellig livssyn, men med en genuin interesse for klubbmusikkens unike dynamikk og allsidige funksjoner. Dette er musikk for både kropp og sjel, for sinn og hjerte. Det blir nok mye spontandansing både på klubb og ved radioapparatet i tiden fremover. Og hvem vet? Kanskje du ender opp som discofrelst du også?
