Young, talented, and versatile, Toy “Boobie Monroe” Smith is like a leopard, she moves with elegance when showing the art of adaptability. As a singer, rapper and songwriter Boobie Monroe’s main goal is to create music that can cross different genres. “I make music the world can connect with.”

Born in Cleveland Ohio, Toy always wanted to be a singer; coming up in a family of music lovers she was able to acquire an ear for music. Having a Jamaican background gave her a feel for island rhythms and her time spent with the church choir left her with a touch of soul. At a young age, Toy started to grow an appetite for performing in front of crowds. After that Toy begin doing whatever she could to get seen, performing at talent shows, singing at cabaret’s, leading a drill team, everything and anything to get experience and break into the music biz.

By age 18, Toy Smith now Boobie Monroe moved to South Florida and signed with a production company that worked with radio station Power 96. She built a strong buzz and got noticed by executives at Universal Music Group (UMG) with her single “I Hate My Baby Daddy”. She and a few other girls were picked to form a group called ‘Dirty Diana’. Due to creative differences the group did not last. Boobie and some of the girls tried to salvage the idea under the name ‘Tayla Made’, earning a meeting with music executive great Clive Davis. However the group folded shortly afterwards forcing Boobie to re-think the idea of being in a music group. Boobie started to pursue a solo career and signed a publishing deal at Universal Music Publishing Group and wrote for artists signed to UMG. During that time she learned to expand her skills with Grammy nominated producer/songwriter Mario Winans and worked with Jive recording artist/songwriter Miguel.

Boobie then moved to California and studied under the legendary hip hop artist and songwriter The D.O.C.. Boobie continue to grow confident about her musical talents after performing in front of multi platinum rapper 50 Cent. “50 told me personally that he believed I had what it takes to make it in the music industry”. Boobie Monroe also did some acting and in 2005 landed a role in the movie ‘My Big Phat Hip Hop Family’. Afterwards she moved back to South Florida to join with a collective group of artists and form the unit NorrStarr Entertainment. When asked about her creative process Boobie said “I’m all about the beat, I draw inspiration from real life encounters and that gives my music passion, then I’m in my zone.”

Currently, Boobie Monroe is working on getting a recoding/production/distribution deal. As a great performer Boobie understands her own artistic brand. “Today’s music fans don’t have a female artist who is confident and sexy but still have a mature attitude. I can be the artist where female fans wouldn’t feel embarrass to emulate because of silly antics and still portray a youthful, seductive swag where male fans would want to be around”. In this world there can only be one, Boobie Monroe.
