Heidy P. has a deep love for vocal house, groovy disco and uplifting rhythms.
Her journey started over 15 years ago with a show on college radio. She fell in love with the craft and never looked back. 

She’s all about bringing love, light and playfulness to the dance floor. When she’s behind the DJ booth, her positive energy is contagious.

Over the last years, she has won over crowds at renowned clubs such as Good Room, House of Yes, Lux Fragil, Kitkatclub, as well as having a string of guest mixes on online radio stations.
She’s currently back In Montreal after spending a few years in Lisbon. She hosts a monthly show on Radio Quantica and produces music with her project Rhythm Phazer.

Finally, she has recently joined Brooklyn’s XOXA as resident DJ, a collective of female and non-binary DJs, performers and artists who throw a variety of events showcasing queer DJs of all different genres.

Their passions are influenced by the dynamic music and culture they were immersed in being raised in Miami, FL. Chelita began DJing as a reprieve from the stress of being a chef. From Miami Bass to Bachata & to trap and house, Chelita brings a unique adventurous new sound to Boston and the world of DJing. They have already left their mark on the Boston Underground in the short time since their debut. Their music is a textured-rich odyssea in deep conversation between themselves and the listeners. Today, Chelita has performed around Boston & New York City and has collaborated/performed with artists in NYC, Boston, LA, Providence,RI, Atlanta, Richmond, VA and :Florida. “I took this mix as an opportunity to explore some faster, harder sounds than I usually play out, and included some gems that I’ve been sitting on for a while! I’m very pleased to share this and really enjoyed digging into this side of my library. I think it still feels very “Kandylion” and includes some of my favorite Brooklyn artists. Also, if you’ve seen me in the past few months you’ve probably heard me wax eloquent about the impact that this year’s Honcho Campout left on me, so for this mix I mentally drew inspiration from the sounds I got to hear late-night at the Grove and imagining what I might play in that environment (hence the mix name.) Kandylion (pronouns: she/any) has spent the better part of the last decade honing her dj chops in the Brooklyn underground dance scene, and is a current resident of queer nightlife collective XOXA. Her versatile and dynamic mixes playfully span genres with an emphasis on house, disco, acid and breaks, with melody and groove at the forefront.

DIVINE SONIDOS w/ ARSHIA HAQ b2b CHOZA [lunes listening room, live 21.08.2023]

With an unknowing fever under the disco ball in the red room of Robinia Courtyard, recorded live for December's edition of JAMS in Madison, Wisconsin. That night $555 was raised to donate to GSAFE, a Madison-based organization that "envisions school communities where all LGBTQ youth and students thrive."

Morgan Geist – of Metro Area / Environ / Unclassics fame – dug deep into the recesses of what must be a record collection the size of a mountain to weave together this dustily beautified journey through abandoned early 80s NY. Geist’s selection of late 70s / early 80s electronic tracks exquisitely captures a moment in time when the prevailing disco sheen hanging hazily over the city was being overtaken by the throbbing pulse of murder, drugs, and dirt that ran a heavy current underneath. All in all it’s a mix that captures a certain brand of austere beauty. If that all sounds a little too ‘grown’, we’re almost 100% positive that Mr. Geist threw in some chopped and screwed Arthur Russell for the new jacks towards the very end.

“Barry’s Apartment”

This little mix is obviously inspired by the original Cosmic DJs (Baldelli) and innovative DJs of (or nearer to) my own generation, like DJ Harvey and Daniel Wang. I made sure to include some records that I thought I “discovered” on my own, only to hear them played by other (better) DJs who probably knew about them a lot longer than I did. Parallel evolution is a bitch, but I didn’t want to abandon these beloved tracks just because they were “marked” by another DJ.  For example, most DJs who know the Transfer Station Blue track associate it with Sarcastic Disco, the infamous and beautiful Harvey mix – yet I believe I got my first copy of it from my departed friend, Barry Lederer, and associate it with digging and listening and learning in his dusty old apartment on 24th Street in Manhattan.  I find Harvey inspirational, but don’t want my own Barry-nostalgia supplanted. I realize it sounds corny, but sometimes you have to reclaim music that is important to you, and that’s what a lot of this mix is about for me. – Morgan Geist (Environ, Unclassics, Metro Area)
