With release nr. 11, Luv Shack Records are once again eager to exalt the diversity of their releases, while keeping up the quality.

LUV011 is the split EP of the two up and coming electronic music duos "Manhooker" and "Space Echo". Whilst both projects are still relatively new to the scene, they have equally made a stir with their first releases.

Manhooker consists of the two Berliners by choice Tomasz “Guiddo” Switala and Sebastian “Mavin” Magassouba. Their first release appeared on Ostgut Ton´s sublabel 'Unterton' and their second EP was recently released on german heavy hitters 'Sonar Kollektiv' - a collab with ex New Yorker Snax, featuring a remix by Justus Köhncke.

With 'Pushin & Shovin', Manhooker are once again evoking the spirit of classic soulful house hymns. It's an uplifting mix of 90s organs, filtered arpeggios and thick drums all held together by an acid bassline and Mavin´s shimmering vocals. And not to forget the trumpet solo!

The remix of 'Pushin & Shovin' comes from Brazilian wunderkind ROTCIV (who has already remixed Manhooker on their Unterton release). He strips off the smoothness of the original in favor of a more raw and analogue vibe. Its groove seems like a merger of modern electro and classic house, and although ROTCIV´s trademark stabs and pads are used quite ecstatically on this remix, the song structure remains just as strong as in the original.

On The flipside we have Space Echo, the duo of Viennese producer caTekk and (Luv Shack`s very own) Lee Stevens. Their first ever production as a duo was a remix for none other than Austra on Domino Records.

They're offering two equally powerful cuts on the B-side; 'Soul Power' is nothing short of a club burner. A mighty and continuously building ride of funk organs and disco drums, all with a delightfully modern touch. When the vocal kicks in for the first time, ringing in the break, the audience will surely fall into a frenzy when exposed to it! The disco guitars are just the icing on the cake.

'Soul People' takes a slightly more sensual path. Expect dreamy rhodes, dubbed out percussive organs, an almost reggae worthy bassline, a painfully sweet vocal hook and a sharp rhythm that make this track a perfect choice for every warmup, after-hours and daytime set!

With all its ingredients, LUV011 will provide something for everyone who loves electronic music with soul!

For our new CLR release two artists from the CLR family went on individual missions to remix the MOTOR track "Hyper Lust" (feat. Billie Ray Martin) taken from the recently released and critically acclaimed album 'Man Made Machine'. The first is Monoloc, a very talented DJ and Producer who is currently finishing his debut album for the upcoming release on CLR. The other is Juan Pablo Pfirter, an internationally respected Techno ambassador from Buenos Aires who has been working with the label for years. Each one of them has taken this honorable task as serious as anyone could imagine, and each one of them has created a unique, exiting and dignified remix of the original track.

Monoloc’s take is a rather slow half-beat approach with a thick and well-defined bass, chopped up vocals and innovative effects. It shows much of his characteristic trademark style and has a simultaneously pleasant and slightly alarming vibe. Pfirter delivers the straight forward, yet atmospheric and groovy Techno mix of this EP, and just like Monoloc, he does it with excellence. The choice of sounds, the highly creative programming and the quality of the mix are simply faultless.

The album release of 'Man Made Machine' has crowned the launch of CLR’s new sub-label CLRX, and like the recently released remixes of the title track by Radio Slave, Black Asteroid, Chris Liebing and Luke Slater’s Planetary Assault Systems, this brand new release also pays massive respect to the work of this pioneering Techno duo by the name of MOTOR.

Santiago Ferrer, also known as Xpansul, started playing records in Madrid back in 1993. Since then, he has played at most of the hottest clubs and festivals in the World. He’s been resident dj, amongst other clubs, of two pillars of the Spanish electronic scene: Soma Experimental Club, pioneer of underground techno sound in Madrid, where he became a professional dj and built he’s style and personality as a dj, and Coppelia 101, referential club of the first wave of XXI century techno.

Besides, he’s played at top clubs and festivals such as Fabric, Berghain, Tresor, Watergate , Rex, Fuse, La Real, Goa Roma, Moog, Club 4, Cocoliche, Goa Madrid, Bar Américas, Cassette, Sunjam… And a lot more gigs in cities all over Europe, from Portugal to Ukraine, and the Americas, from Santiago de Chile to Chicago.

Xpansul’s sound as a dj is Techno, his sets are a journey through electronic music, in which the “axis” Detroit-Chicago-Berlin is the driver and all his other musical influences are the passengers. He’s playful and distinctive clockwork technique with the decks and mixer is well known and recognized.

Since 1998, Santi starts writing and producing music as well, getting a really good response from the crowd and critics to his first releases on labels such as Audiodrome, Options, Isoghi, Syl.Label or Soundplant, sometimes working solo and sometimes with his partner Daweed.

From then on his original productions and remixes have appeared in some of the top labels in the World, both solo and in collaboration with artists such as Alexi Delano, along who he’s released some of his greatest hits.

Plus 8, Soma Records, Ovum, Synewave, Truesoul, H-Prod, Harthouse, Analytic Trail, Perc Trax, Trapez, Apnea, Sleaze Records, Suara, CMYK, Regular, Esperanza, Immigrant, Leftroom, Minibus, Weave, Amazone Records……. These are just some of the many labels Xpansul has released in the last 15 years.

Since 2003, Xpansul has been involved in different record labels, like the now disappeared Discos De Lata and MSX Record and the still pumping True Type Tracks and w0rkt34m, where well established artists have released their music, but also newcomers taking their first steps to become big names years later.
