🔻 Personal Reflection
This one came out of nowhere—and all at once.

I was listening to another song I’d written and heard the phrase “I’m in pieces,” and suddenly I felt it hit me… hard. That wasn’t just a lyric. That was the truth. Five minutes later, “I’m in Pieces” was written. Not crafted—just... exhaled.

It came from the grief I carry from Matthew, from losing someone I thought I was going to grow old with. There’s something uniquely brutal about mourning a person who’s still alive—but no longer the person you loved. The anger, the silence, the self-blame—it all lives in this track. I didn’t write this to make art. I wrote it because my heart was spilling over and I didn’t know where else to put it.

This song is every unanswered phone call. Every final fight. Every “I love you” that came too late. And somehow, writing it helped me realize that being in pieces doesn't mean I'm not still here. It just means I'm real.
