Confidence

This is where the 'Empire' truly starts to loom. It's a masterclass in atmospheric dread, built around unsettling, distorted spoken word samples (“I woke up under the water… a resurrection of a sacrifice… no people…”) that drip with Lynchian menace. It simmers, it broods, and then, just before the end, an industrial juggernaut of a beat crashes the party. Cinematic doesn't even cover it; this is a whole damn mood piece for a film that exists only in Baretta’s shadowy imagination.

Life without people

The tempo drops, the synths clean up into something resembling a mournful electric piano, and a beat whispers of rain-slicked streets and broken hearts after a replicant romance has gone south. Think a Vangelis B-side if he’d been listening to too much The The. Surprisingly tender.

Need to shake off the existential gloom? "The impact" is your electro-punk shot in the arm. Frantic, distorted, and with a riff that’ll lodge in your brain like a rogue microchip, it’s the sound of a robot rebellion in a pixelated amusement park after closing time. Short, sharp, and leaves you gasping.
