François x presents his new label XX LAB
Based in paris, the label acts as a research platform for independent minded artists with an avant-garde electronic music aesthetic. It will release a mixture of electronic and crossover projects steamed by a pragmatic approach based on utopian socialism and forward thinking principles.

The first release is a compilation which spans eight tracks, and brings together a selection of rising talents (vel, elise massoni, uncrat) and established artists (françois x, in aeternam vale, ryan james ford). Revealing a broad musical spectrum, the compilation instantly plunges the listener into a fascinating and ethereal universe.
From synth wave to techno, from idm to hardcore, the collaborative project defines the musical aesthetic of the platform itself: art and friendship united in a utopian society.

Munich-based producer and DJ Sam Goku made his way on to our radar last year thanks to Dutch imprint Atomnation.

Having made several appearances on the label over the last two years, as well as two outings for fellow Dutch label Intercept, Sam's finessed his approach to production, moulding his own modern, refined take on dance music that focuses on fluid rhythms, beautiful melodies and hazy kicks.

Now, with several EPs under his belt, Sam has been focusing all his efforts on his debut album 'East Dimensional Riddims', which again comes via his regular home of Atomnation. Ahead of the release, set for next month, Sam delivers a mix for us, that moves through the motions from fuzzy, twinkling ambience to bright, bouncy rhythms and shuffling breaks.

Here's a track that has been sitting on my computer for a while, which I finally decided to give it a go and eventually release.
This track is filled with nostalgia yet it gives me hope, as if you stared deep into the past, to fully embrace it afterwards. Then you're looking back again at the future, this time with confidence, towards what awaits you. I find it very optimistic in a way.
I chose "Rising Star" as title because of the nostalgia that erodes slowly throughout the track to give room gradually to hope when first felt. I can only wish my vision and the emotion of the track will raise something in you
