Slow Hymn Field Recordings

While walking a dog on the edge of the woods in Gorham Maine, we heard some odd and very loud sounds. Most likely a metal structure in the wind, seemingly too loud for that to make sense. I left my Zoom H1n on top my car as I brought the dog back inside, and this is what it recorded.

This is a recording of the water underneath the boardwalk at the Saco heath preserve in Saco Maine. Most of the sounds are insects in and on the water. Recorded beneath the surface with a hydrophone.

This is a recording of a mug full of water and two sticks of chalk. Chalk has a loud natural reaction when placed in water as the air escapes and bubbles out. Recorded with an Aquarian Audio Hydrophone and a Crank Sturgeon plasti-dipped contact mic inside the mug in the water and a Lom Geofon suctioned onto the outside of the mug. No overdubbing or Fx.
