Junio 1996 / Junio 2016. "Veinte años no es nada" cantaba Gardel, pero en estos "Caminos de sol y piedra", como dice el gran PTT Lizardo, veinte años definitivamente cuentan y mucho. Mi buen amigo de siempre y complice de aventuras sonoras Marcelo Sanhueza me ha recordado esta mañana este aniversario que, muy particularmente, para nosotros significó mas que el lanzamiento de un disco, nuestra primera producción discográfica en una época donde definitivamente esto parecía más una locura que un emprendimiento. Un tremendo disco (sin falsa modestia), el primero que se grababa en este formato "CD" por la legendaria banda "La Misma Gente" (nuestros "Rolling Stones criollos"), marca con tinta indeleble la historia del "Estudio de La Montaña", una historia que por cerca de 10 años puedo contar hoy día con emoción e inmenso agradecimiento. Allí crecimos, aprendimos, nos caímos y levantamos, celebramos, lloramos y reímos, por allí pasó la vida intensamente pero con una particularidad, teníamos una banda sonora propia, neblina, montañas y un gentilicio único: "sanantoñero".
Celebramos hoy nuevamente y sin duda, esa apuesta que jamás perderemos: LA MÚSICA, porque siempre nos deja algo grandioso. Sobre todo la música auténtica, sin "posturas" ni pretensiones, como nos llega y como deseamos hacerla llegar. Celebramos también con mucho agradecimiento a TODOS los que fueron, son y seguirán siendo parte "DE LA MONTAÑA" y de esa inolvidable experiencia, especialmente hoy a PTT, IKE y Luen Pieters, por supuesto a los que acompañaron esta producción y pueden dar fe de cuanto nos divertimos, mi querido Mannel Munoz impecable productor, Pablito (Pablo Hernández), Floren (Florencio Acevedo) el muy popular "Montoño", la lista es bastante larga, se podrán escapar de esta nota, pero seguro estoy que jamás de nuestras vidas. A los que están y a los que no. A los que a pesar de tiempo y distancia llevamos la neblina, la montaña y la buena onda sanantoñera a donde quiera, simplemente porque "TODOS SOMOS LA MISMA GENTE".
Salud, por lo que va, por lo que es y por lo que viene...!

SONNEN - Signaal (Fast Mix)

While we cannot see small nanoscopic objects like proteins or other molecules that make up virtually all living matter including our cells, tissues, as well as pathogens such as viruses, our computational algorithm allows us to make its material manifestation audible.  This piece is a musical representation of the amino acid sequence and structure of the spike protein of the pathogen of COVID-19, 2019-nCoV (protein data bank identifier 6VSB [1]). 

MUSICAL DECEIT

A virus’ genome hijacks the host cell’s protein manufacturing machinery, and forces it to replicate the viral genome and produce viral proteins to make new viruses from it.  This musical art teaches us something about the fine line between beauty of life and death as an opposite pole.  As you listen to the protein you will find that the intricate design results in incredibly interesting and actually pleasing, relaxing sounds. This doesn’t really convey the deadly impacts this particularly protein is having on the world. This aspect of the music shows the deceiving nature of the virus, how it hijacks our body to replicate, and hurt us along the way. So, the music is a metaphor for this nature of the virus to deceive the host and exploit it for its own multiplication. 

HOW IT IS DONE: 

What you hear is a multi-layered algorithmic composition featuring both the vibrational spectrum of the entire protein (expressed in sound and rhythmic elements), the sequence and folding of amino acids that compose the virus spike structure, as well as interwoven melodies - forming counterpoint music - reflecting the complex hierarchical intersecting geometry of the protein [2].
