As you can see from the tags below, I have explored A LOT of genres over the years. Most of the lyrics in the last decade or so are a blend of conscious redpill subject matter with on/off surrealist elements mixed in, in a fashion that could be described as 'post ironic'. I have given my music its own genre: TRUTHERWAVE. Essentially a mix of redpill themes with a variety of eclectic music genres.  Enjoy!

'(Don't Go Down To) Circus City' is a midtempo bit of Waitsian avant-polka about a fictional city where a bearded feminazi tyrant has seized control and is executing non-commies. One of Plaid Tepesh's friends, who is some sort of clown but with politically incorrect opinions, gets killed unfortunately by this raging bearded bitch and Plaid and the Samsara Junkyard good guys whathaveyou crew will avenge him! This version is a rough cut. This song may wind up on a future episode of Samsara Junkyard: Perdition Theater probably, kinda, sort, we will see. Most likely will be released on my next album Frequent Dreamer Miles though.

This will most likely end up a free b side on one the Frequent Dreamer Miles singles like every other cover or song that includes sampled material I have done in the past. I took Marvin Gaye's famous 'Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)' song as a jumping off point, added my own verses about everything from the dangers of 5g to the vax to my own personal issues, and filtered it through a kind of nu ravey neopsych indietronic vibe. Its aesthetically similar in some ways to the nu ravey remix I did of my Shoo In single '5g' that was released as a b side on the single of the same name back in 2020, and it is also similar because they all reference 5g lol. But beyond that its completely different. The song also references the Nirvana/Vaselines song 'Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam'.

Another cut from the upcoming lofi tape years retrospective Four Trackman Of The Apocalypse: The Four Track Years 2002-2006. This one has more of a lofi prog/art rock/new wave feel. Written, performed and recorded by Xylen Roberts.

An old 4-track song circa 2003. It was made using cheap Yamaha keyboards, a single Shure mic, and my old trusty Tascam 4-Track of course. My old lofi days used to get compared a lot to early Doldrums era Arial Pink when I was first making the scene in the mid to late 00s, assumably because of the similar lofi irreverent takes on various eclectic genres.

As previously mentioned, 'Future On A Butterfly Wings' will be released in the next several months on Four Trackman Of The Apocalypse: The Four Track Years (2002-2006) Volume 1, a retrospective of the lofi taped material I did in late high school and early college. Stay tuned!

one of my earliest piano ballads. Written, performed and recorded by Xylen Roberts. From the upcoming cassette recorder years retrospective Four Trackman Of The Apocalypse: The Four Track Years 2002-2006. I love this one, has a stripped down Phil Elverum sort of vibe. This was recorded during a particularly bad winter in late 2002 I believe, Decemberish. I was still in high school at the time. In between the free association lyrics, its basically a message of hope: 'hey hey the teleporter is on its way/shovel that snow and recite cray cray/my feet are freezing but I feel ok/the splinters of winter are gone'.

The music is very eclectic in nature, ranging from everything from art punk to jazz fusion to electronica to alternative rock to hiphop and beyond.

Since late 2021, been doing a surreal scifi/paranoid fiction/horror radio series called Samsara Junkyard: Perdition Theater. Did a variety show podcast/livestream called The Various Vortices Of Xylen Roberts from February 2019 to January 2021. In May 2021, released two double albums, the indie art rock A Shoo In For The Shut In Awards and the more experimental Essential Travel. Before that I released over a dozen other albums as Xylen Roberts and Mythshifter from 2012 to 2020 alone as well as many others before that.
