Mark worked in collaboration with songwriter Robin Nixon on a 'song-cycle' project involving both music and poetry. The piece 'Fair Game' is now written and recorded. and is now on release.

His influences are Ray Davies, Graham Parker, Smokey Robinson, Curtis Mayfield, Gladys Knight, Nina Simone, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. And Dusty!
The song 'Hide Away With You' being awarded a Semi-Final placing in the United Kingdom Songwriting Contest.
