Whether you view GE-OLOGY as a world-class producer, visual artist or DJ depends on how long you’ve known him. His prolific contributions to music, & art more broadly, span over 40 years & are well-documented. An artist in every sense, Ge-ology has excelled across numerous disciplines like illustration, fine arts painting & sculpture, graphic design & music production - all well before the term “multidisciplinary artist” was popularized.
Among his bountiful accolades are his earliest beats as part of the 4 member high school hip hop crew “Born Busy” with Tupac Shakur in the 80s, and later, his collaborative alteration of the hip hop visual & fashion landscape with the jointly talented Matt Doo through their “mentally ILLustrated” artistic partnership Dooable Arts in the 90s, & his production of cultural milestones like songs on both the debut “Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star” & Mos Def’s solo “Black On Both Sides” LPs.
 
Ge-ology’s profound artistry sets him apart from his peers and is abundantly clear in his DJing and musical experimentation. He flawlessly expresses contrast, depth, texture & color to blend music & art into a single creative lens. “It’s really the same language. You can describe music in artistic ways & colors in a very musical way.”
Never stagnant or complacent, between touring internationally & his residency at Public Records, Ge-ology is wrapping up two highly-anticipated creative projects for Fall 2023. One record is his full production, the other is a rework of a rare, never reissued record of which he’s obtained the master reel & blessing of the original artist.
 
When asked about his taste & approach to selection, Ge-ology keeps it simple. “Every time I play, I want to bring something special to the table.” He likes to play “shit that’s different,” whether it’s overlooked cheap heat, music people don’t know or high value rare records that very few people have.He digs for music that’s under the radar, extremely funky, soulful & moving.
Always intriguing & exciting, Ge-ology engages dancers on his musical voyages by seamlessly & organically bringing them up & down to different emotional places. But expect some surprises & curveballs - “I don’t like to be bored or to be predictable, so you can always expect something interesting!”

London’s insanely friendly and finest house music purveyors Deep Into Soul connect with BBE Records to bring DJ Spinna’s world-acclaimed WONDER-Full party to town on Sunday July 10th at the Prince Of Wales, Brixton. Officially launched in 1999 and co-signed by the genius that is Stevie Wonder himself, who has attended the event in person several times, WONDER-Full LDN is the only way to celebrate the life and work of the 65 year old legend. And with Stevie Wonder in town that same weekend for a Live show at Hyde Park, the great man may even put in an appearance!

Of all DJ Spinna’s accomplishments, nothing compares to the celebrated Stevie Wonder inspired WONDER-Full DJ performances. Garnering overwhelming fanfare each occasion - whether in the USA, Amsterdam, Japan or beyond - if a WONDER-Full event is booked at a club you can put money on a line around the block and hundreds of Stevie Wonder admirers joyfully rocking the house. Most notably, in October 2012 Spinna performed an opening DJ set for the “United Nations Message Of Peace Concert with Stevie Wonder” including appearances by Sting, Janelle Monae, Varlerie Simpson, and other luminary artists.

DJ Spinna is one of house music’s most celebrated DJ/Producers, and a master across the musical genres, always ready to mix it up and deliver something something spontaneous and unexpected on the night. He is joined by the UK’s multi-genre and legendary master mixer, DJ Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, the UK godfather of all things boogie, disco and house and again here a great spontaneous DJ beyond compare. The Fat! Club EP 002 follows on from our hugely popular first EP last month, with another stellar five track mini-compilation, showcasing tracks from some of the UK’s most exciting underground producers.

Established in 1997, The Fat! Club encompasses a record label, blog, club night and management agency. This long running commitment to UK underground music has seen Chew The Fat! host arenas at festivals across the UK and Europe, monthly parties around the globe, and five consecutive summer residencies at We Love…Space Ibiza.

Now more than ever the UK underground scene is overflowing with creative minds and upfront beats, and The Fat! Club is as passionate as ever about new talent.

Opening the second EP we have London based Vice City who impressed us recently with their first track Fever (which is forthcoming on Retrospekt Records), so we had to get them on this EP with 'Luv Lyk Diz B4' sampling the gorgeous Faith Evans and a clever intro from Nina Kraviz.

Up next is Preston's Taneli and his massive track 'You're The One' which has been doing the rounds for the past few months with Eton Messy, Fhinq Music and countless other imitators.

On a slightly more techno tip we have Fixtyone27 resident Gage from Bristol and his acid banger 'Burnin'.
Beach Justice lights up proceedings on his big room stomper 'That Feeling', with some lovely top lines throughout.
Finally, but certainly by no means least we have Johnbear and Bria with their take on Janet Jackson's 'Someone To Call My Lover'.
