going to start posting the remakes/projects i worked on this summer.
this one was more of a MIDI exercise than a full-on remake exercise considering i don't have hundreds of $$$ to spend on spectrasonics trilian.

made this one over the summer. never got around to posting it because i actually started work on the drop section and got pretty far with it, so i wanted to hold off until i got the drop completed. i haven't touched this project since august though and i think i did a pretty decent job with it so i thought i'd post it. if i end up posting the drop section it will be a separate upload.

was really hesitant to post this because i worked insanely hard on it over such a long period of time and put so so many hours into it. it's hard to say goodbye to this project but i'm very proud of it and i really want to share it.

needed a break today from the projects i've been working on lately so i challenged myself to remake the drop in one day.
wasn't too concerned with accuracy bc i wanted this is to be a quick af project so mixing/sample selection/midi isn't as close as i usually shoot for.
ngl one of my favorite parts of doing these remakes are those 2 second (rixir edits) before the drops

i tried uploading my remake with the original chants but i got a copyright strike lol so i had to pitch them down.
i sampled the toms and the chants from the original, everything else is from the ground up. the chords were a lot more complicated than i thought they were going to be.

heard this on eden's 365x22 video today and fell in love with those chords. despite being restricted to a virtual piano and cello, i thought remaking it would be a nice final note of 2017.

im still working hard at learning my craft and im really excited to share next year what ive been working on.
