What I am creating here is a personal experience for each listener, to carry them away on a magic carpet ride of musical indulgence to be enjoyed individually and privately rather than in large crowds or groups as in the case of many other forms of music. 
All tracks are also created exclusively using headphones because this is the way virtually everybody hears music these days. So please listen using a good pair of headphones to get the best from these tracks.

The tracks here are just a small sample of my music. A few examples from my 300 or so compositions.

I have now upgraded this with full length tracks in place of the 2 x 1 minute samples for each and every album. There is now over 3 hours of music you can listen to for FREE.

All my music compositions fall basically within the category of chillout but encompass a wide range of styles. I love synthesizers and creating interesting sounds and instruments using these. I also use many familiar instruments such as pianos and guitars plus orchestral sounds and a host of everyday sounds such as my printer, sandpapering, rhythmic pots and pans from round the house, and everyday domestic noises all mixed in together to create the finished piece of music.

I spend literally ages ensuring all sounds within a track work well together and very often end up removing parts that do not fit as well as I had wished. I tweak all aspects of every sounds, for instance to make the decay on an instrument fit precisely to the tempo of the track, altering EQ to give space for various musical parts to coexist without clashing.
I use multiple effects devices throughout the entire composition and often as just spot effects on single notes or phrases.
I use panning of instruments and effects extensively in almost all tracks as well as working exclusively on headphones as this is the way that almost all music these days is heard.

Every album I release contains a majority of what could be considered relaxing, chillout tracks, and then there are always at least one orchestral based composition and one or two funky tracks (something with a bit more of a groove). Every now and then I also throw in an ambient track taking you on a mystical journey through soundscapes of the mind.

I hope you enjoy my music as much as I enjoy creating it. I spend every day creating more just because I love it. It is pure and absolute enjoyment for me and I cannot think of anything I would rather be doing than this. Music is life…….

Chip & Pin is all about the electronic music synthesiser; it is also an acknowledgement of all those great artists that have created music in many styles using these devices since their inception. Every sound on every track of this album has been created using one of a variety of electronic music synthesisers devices along with multiple effects; this includes all the drum sounds used. There are a great many sonic references to tracks and artists that have gone before and have been a huge influence on this album. Its creation is a testament to their creativity and originality. Those synthesiser aficionados among you will no doubt recognise many sounds used here and know their sonic origins and for the rest of you it will be a voyage of discovery through the expansive world of pure electronic music.

The electronic music synthesiser has always held a wonderful fascination for me with its virtually unlimited sound creation possibilities from the early Moog and EMS synths through to the modern day software emulations of which there is no better example than the collection provided within ‘Propellerheads’ - Reason software that I have been working with since it first appeared in 2000. A powerful system in the hands of an experienced synthesiser user and programmer it contains 3 very different and unique synths, the ‘Subtractor’ is closest to the early Moog devices etc. that all used subtractive synthesis as their main sound creating basis, then there is the ‘Malestrom’ a graintable synth similar in concept to the PPG and then the ‘Thor’ that is a monster of a synth that covers virtually all the various synthesiser sound creating possibilities that have been used over the years by different manufacturers all within one instrument. Add to these the huge variety of effects devices within Reason and the possibilities of using multiple instances of all these synths and effects and you can see how it was possible to produce every sound on this entire album.
