「ワーカホリックな慌ただしい平日をどうにかくぐり抜け、ようやくたどり着いた日曜日。のんびりとリラックスしながら気ままに休日を過ごす彼の心には、時間の経過とともにいつしか“void= 空虚感” が漂い始めていた…。」
近年再び盛り上がりを見せる“Ambient～NewAge～Tape カルチャー” をキーワードに、やけのはら、P-RUFF、H.TAKAHASHI の3人によって結成されたアンビエント•ユニット、UNKNOWN ME。1 作目となる今回、彼らがスポットを当てたのは“日曜日”。
まるで窓から差し込む日光のような、浮遊感のあるやわらかい音像と丸みを帯びたリズム。日が傾くにつれて、それらが重なり溶け合ってまどろみへと誘う。夜が深まり徐々に立ち現れる、スペイシーなトリップ感を帯びたアンビエンス。“誰も知らない誰か” の休日の過ごし方にフォーカスし、起床～就寝までの時間の移ろいを軸として展開する、ウォーミーでリラクシンな30 分。
DJ、ラッパー、トラックメイカー、執筆家として様々なシーンを縦横無尽に横断し独自の活動を続けるやけのはら。DJ 活動と並行してレーベルradloop を主宰、7inch 作品のリリースを重ねるP-RUFF。Entertainment Systems、Where To Now? Recordings 等、海外レーベルからもカセット作品をリリースするアンビエント作家H. TAKAHASHI 。
3 人がそれぞれ持つバックグラウンドや音の個性が絶妙に交わることで、奇跡的に生み出されたアンビエント•カセットが、やけのはらのレーベル“NOPPARA TAPES” のリリース第一弾として少量限定リリース！

"Ambient~New Age~ TAPE culture" showed a climax in recent years, Yakenohara,P-RUFF,H. Takahashi set it as keyword, and start an ambient unit, "UNKNOWN ME".

For their first album, they shed a spotlight on Sundays.
Their floating and soft sound and rounded rhythm like sunlight coming through window.
These blend into each other as a day inclines, and invite you to slumber.
Night deepens, ambience with a feeling of trip appears little by little.
This album which focus on how someone spends a day off, express passage of time to going to bed from getting up, is warm and relaxing 30 minutes.

Yakenohara, he actives widely as DJ, rapper, track maker, and writer.
P-RUFF, he presides the label "radloop" side by side DJ activity, and release 7 inch works.

B 面では、近年再評価熱が高まるアンビエント・プロデューサーGIGI MASIN のリミックスも手がけたInner Science が、前作「sunday void」に収録された「Blended Screen」を再構築。原曲が持つ音の煌めきを最大限に引き出しながら、まるで生き物のようにうねるビートとベースで、唯一無二な独自のグルーヴを作り出すことに成功している。

Tokyo trip-ambient unit UNKNOWN ME make transportive vignettes with minimal means: soft-focus static, translucent loops, muted metronomes, field recordings. Comprised of DJ / producer Yakenohara, radloop label boss P-RUFF, electronic texturalist H. Takahashi (Constellation Tatsu, Where To Now?, birdFriend), and art director Osawa Yudai, the group’s sophomore offering, subtropics, furthers the fantasy Zen garden miniatures of their 2016 debut, sunday void. Whereas that collection themed itself as an innerspace voyage of domestic leisure, their latest journeys outward, 
a lucidly dreamed globe-trot across continents, cities, and coastlines. Dazed tones spiral gracefully against hushed backdrops of floating chimes, distant wildlife, and prismatic vapor. These are less songs than spaces, blissed synthetic bio-domes awaiting habitation. Eight illusions of worlds unrealized, pleasures UNKNOWN.

「UNKNOWN ME」は、DJ・プロデューサーのやけのはら、radloopレーベル主宰P-RUFF、Constellation Tatsu、Where To Now?、birdFriendから電子音楽作品をリリースしているH.TAKAHASHI、アート・ディレクターのOsawa Yudaiによって構成されており、グループとして2本目の贈り物である「subtropics」は、かれらの2016年のデビュー作"sunday void”が持つ、ファンタジーな禅庭園のミニチュア的世界観から更に歩を進めている。

やけのはら、P-RUFF、H.TAKAHASHIの作曲担当3人と、グラフィック・デザインおよび映像担当の大澤悠大によって構成される4人組アンビエント・ユニット「UNKNOWN ME」が、4作目となる待望の1st LP "BISHINTAI"を、米LAの老舗インディー・レーベル「Not Not Fun」からリリース。

UNKNOWN MEはこれまでに3作品をリリースしており、2017年には、亜熱帯をテーマにした作品「subtropics」が、英国「FACT Magazine」の注目作に選ばれた。また、アンビエント・リバイバルのキー・パーソン「ジジ・マシン」の来日公演や、電子音楽×デジタルアートの世界的な祭典「MUTEK」にも出演している。

このアルバムは、電子頭脳のガイドと共に旅をする都市生活者のための環境音楽であり、心と体の未知の美しさを探求するイマジネイティブ・サウンドスケープとなっている。
ニューエイジ、バレアリック、電子音楽といった様々な要素を内包した、多彩な曲調のアンビエント・メディテーションは、神聖な不思議さを持って蜃気楼と共に揺らめき、光り輝く。

聴きやすくも深遠な、繰り返しのリスニングにも耐えうる完成度を誇るこのアルバムには、素晴らしいゲスト・ミュージシャンとのコラボレーションも収録されている。
電子音で、世界的に活躍するトラックメイカー「食品まつり」、伝説の奇才「ジム・オルーク」が参加。
また、片想い、ザ・なつやすみバンド、うつくしきひかり、といったバンドのメンバーとしても知られる変幻自在のマルチ・プレイヤー「MC.sirafu」がスティールパンで、同じく、ザ・なつやすみバンド、うつくしきひかりのメンバー「中川理沙」がハーモニック・コーラスで桃源郷の彩りを添える。
未知の惑星で撮影したかのような幻想的なアーティスト写真は、気鋭の写真家「Ichisei Hiramatsu」が撮影している。

The inaugural LP by Tokyo Metropolis electronica entity UNKNOWN ME, Bishintai, is a sublime synthetic suite of cosmic wellness transmissions exploring “the unknown beauty of your mind and body,” appropriately named for a kanji compound meaning “beauty, mind, body.” Crafted with software, synthesizer, steel drum, rhythm boxes, and robotic voice by the core quartet of Yakenohara, P-RUFF, H. Takahashi, and Osawa Yudai, the album unfolds like a holographic guided meditation, soothing but cybernetic, framed by subways and sky malls. Latticework electronics flicker with texture, glitch, wobble, and mirage, themed around sensory perception and body parts.

A diverse cast of collaborators assist in actualizing the collection's uniquely urban expression of new age ambient, from psychedelic footwork riddler foodman to multi-instrumentalist institution Jim O'Rourke to Japanese underground shape-shifters MC.Sirafu and Lisa Nakagawa. Although the group cites a therapeutic muse (“made for the maintenance of the minds of city dwellers”), Bishintai shimmers with an alien strangeness, too, like decentralized relaxation systems obeying sentient circuits. This is music of utopia and nowhere, channeling worlds within worlds, birthed from a sonic ethos as simple as it is sacred: “in pursuit of beautiful tones.”

He is a Japanese DJ, musician, and rapper.
He has performed at the big festival or an underground party for over 10 years.

He joined remix works etc. for any kind of over 100 works such as
famous pop music artists like Tatsuro Yamashita or YUKI,rock bands,dance music.
In 2009 "Rollin' Rollin'" released by "Tabito Nanao×Yakenohara" became a hot topic,in 2010 he released "THIS NIGHT IS STILL YOUNG",rap album.
In 2013 he released 2nd album "SUNNY NEW LIFE".
As DJ he makes the dance floor excited with a long set using house music,disco music or a wide range select in response to a situation on the spot.

He makes many mixes like "Stones Throw 15 mixed by Yakenohara",official mix for Stones Throw Records 15th anniversary.
And he plays for supporting to the acts in Japan of Giorgio Moroder,Daniel Wang,Dimitri from Paris,Masters At Work,Prins Thomas,Thundercat,CLAP! CLAP!,!!! (Chk Chk Chk),Thomash,Gigi Masin and so on.

He is also active as a member of the ambient unit "UNKNOWN ME”. 
The subtropical-themed work "subtropics" released by LA's long-established indie label Not Not Fun in 2017 was selected as a featured work by FACT Magazine in the UK, and co-starred with Gigi Masin, a key person in ambient revival.

After releasing the LP "BISHINTAI" in 2021, they also appeared in the global festival of electronic music and digital art "MUTEK Montreal 2021" held in Canada and the domestic outdoor music festival in Japan "FESTIVAL de FRUE 2021”.
"BISHINTAI" was also selected as the best of the year for various media in Japan and abroad.

He is also a writer, and published his first book, "Cultural Water Flow Exploration" in October 2018.

DJや作曲、ラップ、執筆業など、多様なフィールドを独自の嗅覚で渡り歩く。

「FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL」などのビッグ・フェスティバルから、アンダーグラウンド・パーティーまで、日本中の多数のパーティーに出演。THE BLUE HEARTS、山下達郎、YUKIといったポップ・アーティスト、ロック・バンド、ダンス・ミュージックなど、100を超える幅広い作品にREMIXなどで参加。　

2009年に七尾旅人×やけのはら名義で「Rollin' Rollin'」をリリース。2010年、ラップ・アルバム「THIS NIGHT IS STILL YOUNG」を、2013年には、セカンド・アルバム「SUNNY NEW LIFE」をリリース。最後の手段が製作した、楽曲「RELAXIN'」のMVが、「第17回文化庁メディア芸術祭」で新人賞を受賞。

DJとしては、ハウスやテクノ、ディスコを中心としたロング・セット、またTPOに応じた幅広い選曲を得意とし、Stones Throw15周年記念のオフィシャルミックス「Stones Throw 15 mixed by やけのはら」など、数多くのミックスを手がけている。

アンビエント・ユニット「UNKNOWN ME」のメンバーとしても活動。2017年に米LAの老舗インディー・レーベルNot Not Funよりリリースした亜熱帯をテーマにした作品「subtropics」が、英FACT Magazineの注目作に選ばれ、アンビエント・リバイバルのキーパーソンであるGigi Masinとも共演。
2021年、LP「BISHINTAI」をリリース後には、カナダで行われた電子音楽とデジタル・アートの世界的な祭典「MUTEK Montreal 2021」、国内の野外音楽フェスティバル「FESTIVAL de FRUE 2021」にも出演。国内外、各種メディアの年間ベストにも選出された。

雑誌「POPEYE」でのコラム連載など、文筆業も行い、2018年10月に初の著作「文化水流探訪記」を青土社から刊行。
