Lars Huismann returns to SHDW & Obscure’s Mutual Rytm imprint for the third and final part of his Sounds From The Past EP series. We premiere the effortlessly powerful ‘Bittersweet’ as Lars calls on mutated dub chords and galloping low-end for a no-nonsense techno weapon.

Berlin-based Lars Huismann has been a key cog in the Mutual Rytm machine since the inception of the label in February of last year. Lars returns for his fifth offering on the label, and his third solo EP as he signs off on the final Sounds From The Past EP of the trilogy.

Lars continues to push his sound through each release on Mutual Rytm, working closely with SHDW & Obscure Shape to achieve a forward-thinking yet vintage package of contemporary techno funk. Lars perfectly merges influences from the past with forward-thinking nuances of the future. Drawing on the early 2000 techno sound, he embellishes it with his own perspective, as evidenced by his earlier releases on the label. This latest six-track offering is another accomplished outing from this unique talent as he concludes the three-part series on the label in style.

We premiere ‘Bittersweet’ a raging techno banger that is running at full speed from the get-go. Lars maximises a tight and rolling dub influenced to loop its fullest, perfectly conveying that less is more in tool-orientated techno. Jolting low-end drives this raging bull-style techno-thriller, while sharp percussion shifts keep the groove organic and fluent. Another high-class offering from Lars on Mutual Rytm and you wouldn’t expect any less from a producer that is truly at the top of his game.

SHDW’s label, Mutual Rytm hits a notable milestone at the start of 2024 as it turns two years old and hits its 20th release. To mark the occasion, the carefully curated compilation ‘Federation Of Rytm III’ arrives on February 2nd with a 30-track 5 x 12" boxset vinyl release and a further 6 digital bonus tracks.

Mutual Rytm is synonymous with serious, no-frills techno. It is a go-to for the world's most influential DJs and a home to some of the scene's most innovative producers. Over the last two years, it has explored several shades of sound, always with high-quality production and forward-thinking styles. A fine balance has always been struck between new and emerging talents and established names with plenty more to say, and that is the case on this collection which features the legendary likes of Blawan, Gary Beck, Colin Benders, The Advent and Dax J next to ANNĒ, Alarico, JakoJako, Chlär, LDS and many more.

Founder SHDW says, "I've poured my heart into curating a compilation of 36 tracks, a reflection of my deepest musical passions. The lineup is stacked with incredible artists, and it captures the label's essence - a fusion of artists spanning generations, united by a shared spirit and aesthetic, creating a seamless 'mutual rhythm'."

Although all 36 tracks stand alone as high-grade and club-ready dynamite, they also collectively form a versatile listening experience thanks to how they’ve been carefully assembled into a perfectly sequenced journey.

Each one dives into a different nuance within the world of techno and there is a range of moods from dark and driving to more energising and uplifting. Farceb, DJ y productor nacido en Buenos Aires, con una carrera consolidada de más de una década asociado al sonido techno. Su música refleja una combinación de influencias tanto de la vieja como de la nueva escuela, lo que le permite transmitir diversas atmósferas y sensaciones en sus producciones y sets.

Su trabajo ha sido interpretado por reconocidos artistas nacionales e internacionales como Oscar Mulero, Jonas Kopp, Pfirter, Antigone, Shlomo, Lewis Fautzi, Kwartz, Matrixxman, Cleric, Ben Klock, Exium y DVS1, entre otros.

En 2013, Farceb hizo su debut en el icónico club Cocoliche de Buenos Aires junto a Oscar Mulero (PoleGroup), una de las figuras más importantes de la escena techno mundial. Un año más tarde, en 2014, formó parte del nuevo label argentino Orióni, donde editó su primer track en vinilo. Desde entonces, ha lanzado música en destacados sellos como MindTrip, ARTS y Polegroup.

Farceb ha llevado su música a escenarios internacionales, con varias giras europeas que lo han visto actuar en espacios emblemáticos como Tresor, Gare Porto, Khidi, Instytut, Griessmuehle, Prisma y Utopia.

En los últimos años, ha expandido su background incursionando en la creación de música experimental y ambient para proyectos de danza contemporánea en Alemania. En 2023, lanzó un EP con remixes de Divide, Albert Chiovenda y Oliver Rosemann através del sello Concepto Hipnótico, y tiene programados varios releases para sellos europeos.

His work has been played by renowned national and international artists such as Oscar Mulero, Jonas Kopp, Pfirter, Antigone, Shlomo, Lewis Fautzi, Kwartz, Matrixxman, Cleric, Ben Klock, Exium, and DVS1, among others.

A year later, in 2014, he joined the newly launched Argentine label Orión, where he released his first track on vinyl. In recent years, he has expanded his artistic scope by creating experimental and ambient music for contemporary dance projects in Germany. In 2023, he released an EP featuring remixes by Divide, Albert Chiovenda, and Oliver Rosemann through the Concepto Hipnótico label, with several releases planned on European labels.

Since 2023, Farceb has been exploring a new style with a greater focus on dancefloor dynamics, groove, and sound design. Additionally, he is working on several singles and developing his own record label.

Dario Mass was born in 1990 in a small town near Rome, he approaches the world of djing at the age of 13, after a few years plowing through the best consolles of the Italian scene, such as: Cocoricò, Redzone, Rashomon Club, Duel Club… He has also brought his sound in the consolle of the Renate Club in Berlin, Waste Manizales in Columbia and the Wawes in Athens and many others.

At the age of 24 he created the first edition of Timeless Festival together with his crew.
Since 2019 he has been constantly dedicated to music production, obtaining the support of artists such as Freddy K, Dvs1, Kaiser, Nastia,Tensal, Lea Occhi, Stanislav Tolkachev, Edit Select, Mattia Trani, Gary Beck, Developer… just to name a few…

Tino (he/him) is the alias of Danish techno producer Aske Bergstein Nielsen. The project was founded in 2017, with a focus on showcasing his own modern take on the genre. With a background steeped in Copenhagens vibrant techno scene, Tino has honed his craft, crafting a signature sound that pulses with energy and futurism. Tino has released his music on many different labels, including Pure Echo, Seaworld Records, Artaphine, Leyla Records and Another Name - the latter being the label associated with the infamous Copenhagen nightclub “Den Anden Side".

Tino's productions resonates with an electrifying blend of fast-paced rhythms, futuristic textures, and immersive atmospheres.
