2012! The most popular band in Anguilla gave me the call. Life would never be the same. I took the stage that year with little experience under my belt and I was aptly nicknamed “NuKiid.” This moniker has seen me through band clash championships, road marches and placements in the national soca monarch. As “Nu Kid” I built a healthy fan base locally and got the opportunity to share my passion with all of my fans and friends.

But evolution is inevitable. I am no longer the shy teenager who first graced the stage with wide eyes. I am a seasoned performer who is ready to take on the world of music in several genres and in two languages. I am the artist that can soothe your day with melodic groovy soca yet turn up your weekends with power!

I have shed my cocoon and evolved. I am the artist that will carry my islands and their cultures to the four corners of the planet. I am the artist that will continue to strive for excellence. No longer NuKiid…. I am YAN!

My maternal grandfather bore that name and passed it on to me. It is who I am. I pay homage to him and embrace it for myself. I am now complete as a man and as a musician and I am excited to share with you new music, awesome stage performances, new visuals and new experiences.
