Après une dizaine d'années en duo folk familial avec sa soeur dans Alone With Everybody (tournées aux Etats-Unis, Belgique, Suède, Angleterre), et de multiples collaborations et groupes en parallèle (Laure Briard, Thomas Pradier, Tango Juliett...) il s'épanouit désormais en son nom, en solo. 

Auteur-compositeur interprète, folksinger, influencé autant par William Sheller que par la folk américaine, Camille Bénâtre lorgne vers les mélodies anglo-saxonnes dans la langue de Barbara. ‘Dommage’, son dernier album, est sorti le 15 mars 2024.

Issu de démos enregistrées au fur et à mesure depuis 2020 entre Toulouse et Göteborg en Suède, dans la pure tradition DIY - faire soi-même -, ce nouveau chapitre intitulé ‘Dommage’ (jouant sur le double sens du mot, aussi bien le préjudice que l’expression d’un regret) est d’abord le résultat d’observations : les affres de la bétonisation ‘L’homme est capable de marcher sur la lune’, la ‘stupidémocratie’, l’influence d’une personne nocive ‘L’ombre de moi’, la vie dans un pays nouveau ‘Sans terre et sans roi’ ou encore l’égocentrisme ‘Au centre du jeu’ sont autant de thématiques chantées d’une voix douce mais inquiète avec mélancolie et un zeste de second degré. 

Arrangées autour de plusieurs instruments facilement transportables (clavier yamaha, guitare folk parlor…) et quelques petites touches extérieures en home-studio (batterie, scie musicale ou la voix soul de Jessica Phan), ces douze nouvelles chansons à la poésie discrète, qu’elles sonnent plutôt pop électronique ou partent d’un guitare-voix d’une seule prise n’oublient cependant pas l’essentiel : la mélodie et les refrains qui trottent dans la tête.

As a teenager, fascinated by the great voices of MOTOWN and BLUES, she pursued her dream despite setbacks. Determined, she trained at music school, explored various styles, and found her solo path, supported by her costume-making grandmothers. Before music, her connection with horses instilled in her freedom and strength, pillars of her artistic identity.

“If you don't take people on a journey, why make music?”
David Bowie might have said. Her sonic universe is forged around a saturated guitar and a rhythmic foundation that carries the listener away, enhanced by textured synths layered with reverb and delay. Red like a burning sky, blue like an infinite ocean, orange like the glow of a nighttime fire – her compositions invite a sensory journey between wild nature and urban art.

An authentic and unifying style. Influenced by rock, soul, and blues, her music combines energy and sensitivity. With her powerful voice, she conveys direct and sincere emotion. Her songs exude an energy that invites joy and letting go, to experience life alone or together.

Some of the artist's most significant influences include Neil Young, with his legendary album Harvest, Janis Joplin, whose Pearl remains an essential reference, Rival Sons and the raw energy of Feral Roots, and Kate Bush. Inspired by the sound techniques, writing themes, and artistic audacity of these iconic figures, she crafts her own unique style, always faithful to her singular vision.

Through her songs, the artist highlights emancipation, self-improvement, and freedom, particularly for women. Her music offers a space of comfort and positive energy. With lyrics that hit the mark, she encourages us to believe in better days ahead.

Empty Road is the perfect soundtrack for chilling with friends, when time stands still and only the moment matters. A down-tempo rock that's both free and intoxicating, suspending time and inviting you to simply let go.

With a unique touch, this original group has created its own musical expression in the field between jazz, pop, film soundtracks, jazz classics & original compositions making their sound accessible to music enthusiasts in general as well as to the more demanding ear. 

Their voices are transformed into magic instruments, which draw shapes and colors in the air around, giving the audience a multi sensorial experience. People can hear, feel and even imagine the energy of their music. 

They shift the accents around, they pause, and fall back in perfectly, they deepen the groove and then "shallow" it gently again... the sextet develops a singular character, with an extraordinary rhythmic and dynamic performance. They are like storytellers capturing the audience in a co-participating adventure.

They have soon drawn the attention of national and international public, and as a result, they've been invited to many festivals. Among them, we can mention: International "George Enescu" Festival, International Alba Jazz Festival, La Blouse Romaine - Universal Day, Transylvania International Film Festival, International A Cappella Festival in Girona - Cataluña where they met other prestigious A Cappella groups, such as: Vocal Sampling, The Single Singers,etc.  

Their versatility has allowed them to perform as well for privates and multi-national corporations such as: Air France, KLM, Vodafone, Microsoft, Ethan Allen, eMag, Hilton etc.
